Yeah it’s actually sad to see drones dodging your missile from 9km out.
After seeing this for a couple of times, I’ll also wait for them to reach the 8km mark.
There’s no reason moving 2S6 up in BR, the missile and radar locking performance is a clear evidence, and, creating another useless gap, and reason to Gaijin add another SPAA no one asked.
Then move ADATS, Type 81, etc down to 10.7/11.0
Then yes, if you’re flying slow aircraft the best you can do is keep distance, also, I may be completely wrong, wasn’t considering the performance of the 2S6 at close ranges within the 30 mm cannons.
With no substitute at the moment for the ADATS it’s pretty much stuck at 11.7, for the Type 81 (C) it does performs very well at 11.3, only lacking a search radar, considering it will rarely faces 14.0 aircraft, the vehicle in general is effective and no BR change is needed.
Yup. 10KM is the max under ideal conditions, but if your target starts dancing around a bit then you’re not getting missile on target in time. I wait for around 8KM just so I’ve got some wiggle room if I need to burn energy chasing after a maneuvering target.
Anyways, I think the 2S6 is fine - it keeps A-10s and helicopters in check, puts the power in the hands of players/vehicles on the ground and prevents it turning to CAS central. Move other nations SPAA down in BR, but the last thing we want to be doing is moving SPAA up in BR. We want CAS to be hurting, not the other way around.
Meanwhile my team 2S6, rushing in AFV style
I used both and haven’t had Igla hitting shots Stingers would miss, they’re both equally bad against a decent pilot.
ZSU also can’t “lead” the missile, so shooting it around obstacles is not possible.
ZSU with Iglas is definitely worse than Gepard 1A2.
ADATS has 10km of range.
Usually i shoot down the jet before it launches the missile, or just hide behind the cover and it misses.
I’m guilty of this, too. But my first and main priority are air targets. Dakkadakka spam is secondary.
Oh are you?
Then here, i got a present for you
i shoot down the missiles the jets launch just incase theyre targetting my teammates instead of me but yeah that comes down to preference
You know the CAS player are not stupid they rarely stay straight enought for you missile and try to hide your Osa, even a maus can hide behind my Osa .
I would like to disagree. I had a fair share of CAS players just go straight, even if their RWR must be screaming at them.
And even if it gets to the target it often shows “HIT”. I have never seen stuff like this in any other SAM, except ADATS
then give me that stupid CAS player because mine are always go low or move when i shoot .
in my experience with the osa i can still hit maneuvering targets if they arent executing perfect maneuvers at the perfect times, which is rare. especially when they start maneuvering right away and bleed their speed before the missile reaches them. youll hit more targets when you lead better.
oh, and you have a very nice proximity fuze.
Proxy, along with the gorka mode carry the OSA
proxy is the only that work on the Osa .
no. Last time i checked thing that did not worked for sure was missile directors being glued to track radar, causing the missile to fall out of the beam
