I do not see anything wrong
The worst part about this map is that when you get Battle version, the 2 caps are in the valley, and you can freely go sit up above and snipe anyone attempting to exit their spawn. In Conquest (as shown in your screenshot), you can’t.
Make it make sense.
World of Tanks aah map design
Too bad Sinai only cares if C is controlled by a team, and A is just there as a joke.
Problem with cap at A (D2) is that the team that spawns at bottom of map (row G) have a much safer route to cap it because the hills at E1/2 shield vehicles from the enemy. Other side spawning at row A often get picked off half-way to the A Cap.
I always hate having my team spawn in row A on that map.
This map used to be goated before they reworked it, now it’s literally hot garbage.
I know! There is no way to play stuff like the Puma or Chaffee, since you are relegated to Stalingrad style house to house combat, figuratively.
I remember going B3 with a medium tank and halting all the heavies pushing the middle, now its all gone, all the sniping lines have been removed. Even when they put a cap on the other side of the river, that brings too much artention on that side which then makes flanking/sniping impossible. So it’s basically just a wot map atp.
Exactly! The devs removed the need for any brain to flank, and now we are stuck with fish-in-a-barrel combat
its because its low tier, its like baby’s first map gaijin want it to be simple

the entire southern flank still exists
like sure it would be nice if it was like this as the allowed map area

buts its not very consequential for a map thats only available between 1.0-4.0 especially when other variants of the map available at the same BR do allow for the whole map to be accessed
“We think…”
“We don’t want people to spread out”
Tells you everything you need to know…
Said flank is garbage btw.
its really not, just because its easier to be countered on, theres still plenty of very strong sightlines, especially with the entire road network on that half being in ditches giving easy cover
also i assume youre quoting the BVVD q&a but i feel you missed his actual point
just because one specific variant of the map exists which limits the game to quick aggressive play exists doesnt mean all other variants of that map have stopped existing
Easily counter-able, hard to defend if people come back for you, no view over objectives or spawns, so yeah pretty much useless.
Never said it stopped existing. However there has been a trend going over the years, where maps are more restricted, objective location put on places that are hardly playable/flankable, the literal deletion of flank routes, etc. This is on purpose btw, quick games, quick queue time, poor gameplay, more frustration, more income. Keep in mind they want money, and nothing else.
Think of Big Sinai, think of European Province, think of Conquest on Alaska or Cargo Port. It’s all done on purpose.
i dont think the trend exists, the game has always had small maps
and ultimately the reason for shrinking of maps is because gaijin just doesnt make many new maps, and instead add new variants of maps that play differently to the original, and its kinda hard to make a variant of a map that is bigger than the original map so we just get versions that are smaller
dont forget they are also adding flanking routes, such as on tunisia the far left side which is a very powerful flank, white rock fortress which is kinda entirely flanking
sands of sinai i assume, what about it? the flanks still exist, and are arguably more important as you dont just get nuked from the hill side when youre on them
yeah what about it, it still exists its still big
which have existed for a long time, not really indicative of a trend
imo this type of thing is just to force players to play on part of the map that they might not normally use as we all know often people tend pick one side and ignore the other like with A on abandoned factory or the A area on advance to the rhine
yes yes no no yes
yes they want quick games, thats why theres a 25m time limit, if they wanted them shorter they would reduce the time limit, theres no need for them to be sneaky about it, and theyve made it clear in the past that they arent that cunning
yes they want quick queue times, they repeat that constantly
no they dont actually want poor gameplay and more frustration, at least not past a certain point, they want you to enjoy the game, but for progression to be slow, if the game is too frustrating you wont get addicted youll just stop playing and theyll stop getting new players they arent actually idiots you know
You want Gaijin not to make Russia the strongest to run as they have the angled armor and then later the strongest UFP and turret cheeks? Blasphemy.
“i dont think” bro im not asking you about your opinion, this is factual. The new spam of Conquest layouts is something that has only appeared in the last 2-3 years. Not the layout itself, but the most garbage ones.
No, BVVD said it himself, they simply DO NOT want people to spread out. They want a wot game experience where battles last 5 minutes. It wasn’t taken out of context. This is EXACTLY what he meant.
Tunisia and White Rock Shitress?? Are we deadass now bro? They put an open field where the huge mountain on Tunisia was and thats “they added a new flank route”? Don’t even get me started on White Rock Fortress, it’s so abysmal. They actually REMOVED the flanking routes that used to go around the maps. Go find the old map and compare with what we have now. The old one was 100x better.
No the flanking route on sand of sinai dont exist? What?

All of this is GONE. What are you talking about? This flank route rewarded those who knew how to estimate range. But we don’t want skill in this game, we want mindless zombies willing to open their wallets.
No it doesnt. The sniping position i was talking about was changed, it doesn’t have any cover at all and cant fire over the objectives. They also added (on higher tiers) a cap on the side of the river where it was, which brings more attention, which makes the position useless, which is exactly what i said, so i invite you to read my previous messages again.
The map borders didnt though, which is the point of this whole thread. The whole “forcing players to play on parts of the map” is literally forcing people to play on the 3 open corridors where the cap is. I left WoT for this EXACT reason and you’re arguing this isnt killing the gameplay?

What are you talking about bro…
Talking about how most maps are becoming CQC/frontal engagement. Been playing since 2013 and was a ground CBT member. They’ve constantly been redding zones out, making it where you can’t flank via rough terrain (by adding rocks/tank traps or making solid ground somehow slick) and changing entire maps to get rid of anything that permits flanking (hell, look at Kuban and the massive change it had for a great example of that).
I hate the codification of maps SO MUCH
So many spots were blocked off
It feels like every update is made with spite, intentionally making the game less fun to play
Being able to go up many hills and other areas for a slightly stronger position which an aircraft can easily counter you made the game so much more fun
