I doubt your ship got one tapped unless your in a small coastal ship
Yes, usually you need both missiles to do any significant damage.
I used one on the Russian side in Enduring Confrontation, but nothing spectacular.
Running away in smoke, very usefull right @LtCol-RedFox … useless against missiles.
And so on.
There is a reason why newcomers are whining about missiles.
And olders too.
Newcomers do not know about those missiles. They do not know how to shot at first, positionning and so on, and they face missiles boats that are able to ammorack EVERYTHING at this BR and lower with only point and click.
Maybe at a moment, something should be done about this ?
What’s really funny is the DDGs that fire missiles at a british cruiser, hit empty space, then immediately go into panic mode because they just signed their own death warrant.
The problem with DDGs is they’re huge and have fairly poor main gun performance. If the missile doesn’t erase the enemy they’re targeting, everyone focuses it thr instant they see it.
Sure, the guns on the addams and lutjens are rapid fire but they’re single gun 76mms in two or three turrets fighting things with rapid fire 10cm+ ships with more Maneuverability and speed.
An unfortunate fact I’ve asked for years to be implemented as a QoL feature yet that falls on deaf ears for being a single request.
Strange, I’ve seen it happen.
Well with the current system you cannot easily do it, I remember that the old UI allowed for it to work at some extent.
That’s on the devs fault for not adding addition ships with mid WWII AA refits or those built with AA in mind, most vessels will have basic amounts of AA while say premiums between 3.3-5.3 will have above average AA while some TT ships of Ranks IV-V of BR 3.3-4.7 will have much better AA yet impossible for a new player.
I likely wouldn’t be able to in a normal match given an hour as you’ll not meet a missile armed vessels every match (well as observations as a missile armed ship, yes I’ve been using the missile corvette lately yet outside of that I don’t see a Charles F. Adams overly common), yet deadline has past for an hour if you meant after posting.
If this was done as a task what ship would you grant? As sure you could defeat a few yet would undoubtedly take hits due to the limited amount of AA & or by unluckiness suffer from a barrage of ten at that (seems like an impossible one off event with no victory tbh).
Odd I remember seeing it quite a bit especially alongside the leadship event vessel, but for the masses due to being then stuck behind the end of Rank II no the majority didn’t research it. I guess I got unlucky fighting them.
Yet they’re missile armed, if all missile armed are to be 8.7 then it controdicts the idea to not have them up there as well.
An annoying flaw of this game is the smoke screens don’t remove lock quite enough or the short duration of smoke screens that should be able to last for ages, another QoL change that should be added.
Yet even as the lock sticks the screen does conceal your vessel & having both done & face this, it does eventually work to an extent, sure your foe can get lucky as it isn’t fully fool proof.
A weakness in ship construction & a flaw not accouted for in games is our accuracy against opposition, those designs for exposed magazines didn’t mean much for the inaccuracy of shell fire yet in game in the fishbowl of maps those exposed magazines are a weakness, yet the larger missile armed ships are themselves floating powder kegs.
The soviet corvette as example the forward missile magazine is above waterline & prone to catastrophic detonation same for the depth charge magazines just behind it & the main cannons belts are just below the turret ntm the torpedoes themselves are exposed, if but a single shell lands true the corvette is sunk. (Observation from when I was forced to use missile armament on enemy ships & attempt firing at foes astern).
There’s a reason I typed Niche before that as I had just remembered there existence.
Honestly missile armament is old hell there was missile destroyers in the 1920’s… (S class Destroyer HMS Thanet & HMS Stronghold when equipped with the RAe Larynx), but seeing a Ki-48 can be tough for newer players as well along older players not ready for such attacks.
Just one example yet unfortunately you suffered due to being a long ship that than took heavy damage to your speed, the screen in ghis case bereky helped.
From experience you would need to be already going the opposite direction to have smoke be effective in this engagement over having just tried to turn.
Smol correction there but they’re 127 mm cannons but yes against heavy cruisers at most ranges they’re basically secondary/ tertiary batteries to them.
Are you sure thats the complete list of ships with missiles?
Is there viable US coastal ships that can counter the Russians. I find them to be the bane of my existence, even in the Douglas.
Yes, ignoring ships that are modelled with silos & missile tubes but not activated.
Non activated missile ships:
GER:
• Type 143 FAC, two ships, four MM.38 tubes
• Project 133.1 corvette, 2×4 Fasta-2M tubes
USSR:
• Project 1241.2/ .2P 2×4 Strela-3 tubes
• Project 1331M, 2×4 Strela-3 tubes
• Project 11451, 8× Strela-3 silos
JP:
• I-Go class Hydrofoil, six? 2×3? Type 90 AShM
ITA:
• Sparviero class Hydrofoil, six? 2×3? OTO MAT AShM
AI’s Aviation Cruisers/ Carriers also have a lot of missiles.
E, could also count the RUR-5 if they’re late life versions with missiles in them.
I stand corrected, not sure where I got 76mm from.
Maybe someone spawned a Douglas after their Charles F. Adams, heh tbh if I see a 5.7 Brit CA in anything smaller, I’d only challenge it if I had heavier support or was near terrain for concealment as there’s little point in firing SAM’s or main/ secondaries at one.
Seeing any cruisers, hell even some destroyers in the missile corvette I’ve been using since December, I’ve learnt to not fire on such targets when exposed or over 8.12km (maximum range of cannons) as it’s near wasteful to expend ammunition/ SAM’s while they’ll train their heaviest main cannons & bleep me out of existence.
yeah if the proxy scanned forwards instead of sideways lmao
Even if the missile pass close to a ship, it do not explode.
Nah, I - for some goofy reason - thought they had rapid fire 76mms
I almost never see the Douglas in naval outside of EC.
By looking all the comments, look like you feel that normal to have missiles against WW2 boats that cannot deal against them.
New players are already bored about this and you fell this normal.
Take their place maybe ? Even more if they take their first nation without missiles like JP, ITA, UK.
And after, everyone cry cause there are no one in naval. This is one reason.
I’ll not change my mind cause missiles should not be in 5.3 vs 4.3. 14km distance against destroyers where it take 40 sec to have their shell reach this distance.
I’ll wait your video any way to see 10 missiles destroyed in a row without video edit.
they also have a 25m (35 on the V-600P) trigger radius so they should probably trigger on the ocean regardless.
Also the RIM-24 the USA ships use are SARH missiles that cannot be manually guided and while the V-600 on Bravy is radio command line of sight and the ship had optical tracking it had a minimum engagement alt of 100m, neither of them should be physically capable of shooting other ships.
I made some test.
Even with test I’m saying missiles are totally OP against every other ships.
You can intercept missiles with :
- depth charges
- torpedoes
- missiles
- mines
Depth charges, mines and torpedoes if they are launched/dropped at the good moment. Remind that you do not have infinite depth charges or torpedoes. But missiles boats have around 40 missiles in stocks.
Then, if you have torpedo launcher in the middle of you ship, you cannot intercept them if the enemy shot on your front/back.
You cant intercept them with :
- Main gun with HE VT.
- Secondaries with HE VT
- All other shells.
So, for new players, this is IMPOSSIBLE to dodge. Even if you are veteran you cannot make all at once. timer missiles, shot the enemy, dodge all at once + fighting against all other enemies.
Ah yes, Interwar ships fighting against anti-ship missiles from the 1970’s.
You know they place M109 Paladin in the same setup with the Tiger E?
They are not Anti ship missiles… They are AA missiles …
Then, is that a reason to have missile fighting ship from begin WW2 vs post war ?
Just “Because tanks have post war tanks VS WW2”
At 4.0? At the BR of a A6M2 the Zero?
Makes it even worse, don’t ya think?
Your game mode is a laughing stock.
twas sarcasm
