Why isnt France getting an SPAA to fill two HUGE gaps?

It’s going to be 8.3 unless it has some advantage over the Gepard.

It’s weird that I’m seeing French mains angry about getting a new SPAA.

You make a good point.
Sounds like Russia needs another top tier SAM to surpass the SM SV.

It’s not really weird though is it? It is basically a gepard that is being added that does nothing to fill the huge gaps that exist. It makes sense to be mad/disappointed when it is clear gaijin is not listening to what the tree needs ( an SPAA between 5.7 and 8.7) and just adds stuff that seemingly does not really help.
Sure the 8.3 lineup now has an SPAA. so What? that’s like 3 vehicles now.

It’s still a vehicle that is filling the gap. There is an entire thread with anger on the warthunder subreddit about it.

At least they got a vehicle being announced in the thread.

Not really. It’s gonna be 8.3 or 8.7 so it pretty much does nothing. The 8.0 and 7.7 (the biggest) lineups still have no viable SPAA

Yeah that’d still be 8.7

A quite good option for 7.7 though would be the AMX VCI TA20 which was passed a while ago

Still a gap filler.

Germany doesn’t have anything between 6.7 8.3(no, the Wiesel and lurch don’t count) the. 8.3 to 9.7 then 10.3 to 11.7(which it isn’t great currently)

So yeah, you guys got something to fill the gap

Luchs isn’t even a 6.0 vehicle idk how it’s still 7.3

its because its not french.

and its (as far as gameplay goes) yet another gepard that will end up as a OP tank hunter instead of being used as an SPAA (which it will also be OP at)

The largest gap is britains 5.3-8.3 gap from the bosvark until falcon. a lot of the really big gaps have started to get filled slowly. Germany is not high in the priority list for nations that need more SPAA

Pretty sure almost every tree has a thicc 1.0 or higher gap in the AA lines.

  • USA: Stink(5.3) → VADS(7.3)
  • Germany: Kugel(6.7) → Gepard(8.3) if I’m not mistaken
  • USSR: BTR ZTPU-4(4.0) → BTR-ZD(6.3)
  • Britain: Stink → Falcon(8.3)
  • tbh not sure on anything until Sweden
  • Sweden: USH204 → VEAK40
  • do I need to explain Israel?

Cool? Who brought up the Brit’s?

Or are you agreeing that maybe the French should cool it? The point is that the French are angry because they need a gap “filler” but they are getting that and other nations who have a similar gap(or in some cases, larger one) it’s just weird that they are getting a copy paste German vehicle and they are more angry then German mains.

I’m Just not sure what you are talking about?

I get the flak for yet another gepard style vehicle being added but they need to chill when there are nations with far worse SPAA issues. Britain was just an example as it has the largest gap between SPAAs thats not been plugged to some degree.

Its copy paste in gameplay nature sure, not quite a 1:1 c&p in fairness (im not defending it, i dont think it should have been added as gepards are a major problem for the games health)

Not really. A 7.0 SPAA would have been a gap filler. This thing does pretty much nothing because it only fills the gap for 1 single BR step

I’d say there isn’t much of a gap since the AMX-10P performs the role much as the kugel does at 7.0.

First of all the AMX-10P is an IFV, second of all it’s 6.3 and really not that good of an SPAA. If the TPK was not a truck I’d run that (it’s 5x better at shooting down planes) but the 10P is not at all suited for 7.0 not to mention 7.7 and 8.0 where the biggest lineups are.

Practically speaking the gap spans from 5.7 to 8.7 (8.3 after the update drops) which still leaves the biggest 2 lineups without a usable SPAA and the 7.0 lineup with a barely usable 10P

It’s got great vertical movement speed and solid horizontal. It’s small and fast and has a aux MG.

It serves the function of a SPAA fine.

For an SPAA it really does not especially not at 7.0 and above. The elevation angles also are not the best. It’s just not a good SPAA since it clearly was not intended to be IRL

“Sure the gap has been made smaller and it supports a lineup that lacked an AA, so what?”

Sure it doesn’t fix the gap completely, but why are we complaining about this?

Shrimple they are french and complain constantly over every addition.
