Why is there still an engine running at full throttle sound on airplanes when the throttle is cut back to zero percent? I try to dive in with no throttle to hide my engine noise but unfortunately it still sounds as tho it is running at full throttle and alerts the enemy.

You have to turn the engine off to kill the sound. There is a keybind for that.
Will it restart if I turn it off in mid flight?

I think there is a separate setting for that as well, “automatic engine start”, but i don’t know if that affects the behaviour in the air or just on the runway.
More likely a sound bug than that.
