ZTZ96 and T-72A are basically analogue sidegrades.
One has a better shell and gun handling; the other has smaller profile, better armor profile, thicker and more effective armor. T-72A has better mobility as well; leaving aside the marginally higher top speed, it also has a higher HP/T ratio that allows it to accelerate faster.
Against 105mm DM33:
The T-64B doesn’t change in really any way compared to the T-72As armor (against DM33); you will always aim for lower plate and drivers optics (however the T-64B does have a pretty cool weakspot, the turret roof)
The only point you’re making here at best is that the T-64B should be at 9.3 (but I’d presume you’d be against that)
WTF? The T-64B is already possibly the best 9.7 tank
Congratulations you agree with that point. The T-64B should be at 9.7 and not 9.3
T-64B has the advantages of T-72A and ZTZ96; it has the firepower of ZTZ96, and the armor profile (and better) of T-72A.
Look at HP/ton
105 DM33 can pen a T-72A and 96, protection mapping is jank
it will not pen the glacis of a T-64B.
T-64B (BV) is already in 9.7 BR.
DM33 penetrates a massive portion of the upper front plate of the T-64B but most are not going to aim at the front upper plate of either due to any slight angle and suddenly you don’t penetrate either as demonstrated by the image shown as it is
I know I’m not saying otherwise
Theyre almost identical (I believe it’s 17.1 for ZTZ and 17.6 for T-64B). Also, I was wrong about the ZTZ96’s speed limit, it’s 57kmh (and if you really wanna be stupid close with the stat differences the ZTZ96 has about double the reverse speed of the T-64B)
The T-64B absorbs a lot of DM33s during matches.
Play the tanks yourself and see.
Very fun tank and slept on it so long myself.
One of the few tanks at it’s BR that you can play the «haha, W goes forward» playstyle and survive of you want
I was quite literally directly referring to that with the entire notion of how it’s unreliable in both cases to aim at upper front plates
Here’s an additional stat that’s being slept on tho. The ZTZ96 has up to 30°/s of turret rotation. Better than the T-64B’s 24°/s and better than the T-72s 20°/s
Y’all seem to forget what I said about thw armor as well. I didn’t say it was impenetrable from DM33 (w/o weakspot considerations) I said it was impenetrable from DM23 (w/o weakspot considerations). Which that level of penetration is a massive amount of what tanks have in the 8.3-9.0 range
You’re even wrong about your own comments.
He just looks at the statcards, he have never played any of them
These statements aren’t contradictory. What I was referring to with the T-64B and T-72 armor (somehow you forgot or didn’t read; not my problem) was how they are treated in regards to their armor DM33 can more reliably pen the T-72 than the T-64B but not necessarily by a dramatic amount as they’re both unreliable to penetrate with DM33. Subsequently most aim at weakspots regardless of the difference. Also is DM23 the same as DM33? Y’all seem to act as if it is
This was about the ZTZ96 remember? A vehicle neither you nor I have played. This tangent about the T-64B is a waste of time
