What are those even for?
NO!
t64a is worse in a lot of ways:
-much worse ufp
-no smokes
-no lrf
-no roof mg
1- Both are getting lolpenned by DM33, which is the common round. This isn’t T-64B or T-72B levels of armor.
2- Lacks the mobility to use smokes effectively.
3- It has a standard rangefinder which is more than enough, especially for a dart slinger.
4- Has zero impact on capability or BR. [The context is obviously vehicle’s BR.]
Brawl in the city yes, at range nope. Suprisingly it can kill Leopard 2A5/6 easier than uparmored Abrams as there will high probability of it non-pen the turret ring weakspot, but the entire lfp of Leopard 2A5/6 can be penned by the br482b, can’t pen 2A7 in most angles though I only have a few match with it in 11.3 lol Also can’t pen Abrams’s hull anywhere. Surprisingly the turret could take one hit and not die, can easily say first penetrating hit to the turret of Object 279 by top ammunition (M829A2/DM53) simply cannot kill it yet.
1 - why dm33? there are a LOT of tanks that use dm23 as their main round
your argument is alright, but you should also consider their surivivability against lesser threats
something like an of40 mk2 will have no issue lolpenning the t64a, but would have to spend time aiming to kill the t72
2 - smokes are a utility, you can use them in a lot of ways - for example, masking your silhouette from heli atgms
i get why you mentioned mobility, but lacking smokes is a clear disadvantage
3 - lrf is a great qol feature, it shines a lot on huge maps like fields of poland
4 - again, its a qol feature
i personally think that those two tanks should be at different brs, but the t64 should NOT go down
I love small maps in it, but its gun is fine for at range maps - don’t need a laser range finder most of the time, since the gun has great velocity and nice ballistics. But yeah, if the map gets too too big, I’ll take BMP3 in 9.0 lineup or BMD4/BMD4M at 9.3 as first spawn. As long as the map has some ridges and cover then the 279 is fine for making its way forward, like I did earlier tonight.
Thing people need to remember about 279 is it can drive into situations it can actually get itself out of. It reverses over 3x faster than both T-64A/T-72A and is just a highly mobile tank all round.
T-72A/T-64A = What’s a reverse gear, mate?
279 = reversing my way to Washington DC, whoop whoop
However, I don’t really need to say anything since the 279s stats already speak for themselves. Anyone thinking the 279 has lost its shine going from 8.7 to 9.0 is only kidding themselves.
Edit: To be frank, the worst thing about being uptiered to play with what are now the 10.3s (Turms, etc) was not the 279 having issues against its enemy, but being stuck with low-levels in premium tanks on your own team.
Look at this dude in 279, I wish I had it but gajiin is not allowing me to sell my other tanks I have grinded out, no coupons.
Yeah, I worked my butt off to grind it out in that event. Didn’t spend $$$.
Hopefully they add it to the next round of SL loot boxes so that more people get a chance at owning it.
Hahaha Loot boxes what is the chance in that, I hope we get some reforms in the market place its high time we all lobby for some change there.
Cant belive im defending russia against alvis but here we are
Not saying t64a should go down cuz its very playable with still great turret armor, overall great heat protection and as u said good fp
But it doesnt have the same effectivnes as t72 which is a top dog on 9.3 arguably the best with kpz 70
Exactly 10 MBTs out of 28 use ammo worse than DM33. 5 of them are the T-series tanks.
2- Smokes are a utility, but as we saw with Object 292, it does not necessarily harm performance.
3- Standard rangefinders also shine on that map. I think only Red Desert has a chance of going beyond the limit of standard range finders.
They are not notably different.
T-72A is a chronic 9.3, it can’t go up without all 9.3s in the game going up which means all 4.3s and 10.3s in the game have to go up because from 4.3 - 10.3 has no compression anymore.
@noamax
The top dogs of 9.3 are also Magachs, CM11, Olifant Mk2 and Leopard 1A5s, not T-72A.
T-72A is the example of what 9.3s should be.
Magachs are 9.3 slow glass canons they arent op
Olifant is indeed op
Idk about cm11
And leo 1a5 is also a glass canon but with mobility
T72 has similar fp to them but still having armor and mobility
Yes it suffers from russian cons but they arent enough
The point is t72 and t64 doesnt have the same effectivnes
No one ever mentioned OP, there are zero OP tanks at 9.3.
Both T-72A and T-64 are below average mobility DM23 equivalent shooters.
They’re reliant on their modest armor that protects against 8.3s primarily, and players having higher situational awareness than they need in more mobile platforms.
T64 have mid armor
T72 has great armor
And expet reverse both have good acceleration and top speed for the br
T64 Have a weak and loud engine. It still OK for it to climb hill but it get super loud.
I didnt noticed a diffrence in accelertion
You probaly will only noticed it at climbing hills. in very steep hill the T-72A will be able to climb it fast and no problem however the T64A is gonna took some time and if your stock your gonna get stuck over there just like the Stock T-80b it can’t climb the stairs on the castle maps.
And Also i felt like the T64A have a slower rotating time.
Also didnt notice diffrence
In general t series rotate very well so it isnt a problem and even a pro over other mbts
and? 9.3 regularly fights 8.3 and 8.7
