Why is the Su-27 not going down to 13.0 but the F-15A/J can to 12.7?

I am fairly sure that rewards on statshark are calculated before any bonus is applied. But even if we assume that they are not…the rewards difference is more vast than premium bonus would account for.

F-15A
RP: 258 / Game
SL: 932 / Game
Deaths / Game = 2.5

F-2A
RP: 1466
SL: 5539

We can also take this a step further and look at spawn rates and death rates to characterize an average sortie.

F-2A
Spawns: 60,013
Deaths: 48,302
Per Sortie Casualty Rate: 80.5%

F-15A
Spawns: 12,140
Deaths: 10,395
Per Sortie Casualty Rate: 85%

It should be noted that average sortie casualty rate in sim is going to be extremely high across the board.

We can add the JAS-39A as a point of comparison; this plane should be the most survivable at the 13.0 tier and receives the best-possible-case scenario of comparable 13.0s. It has good rwr and radar, good flight model, practically unlimited countermeasures, and small size. On top of that, Sweden is going to be one of the lowest popularities as far as initial tech trees is concerned so in theory should be flown by more experienced minor nation players. It’s main drawback is it plays against Japan pretty much exclusively.

No possible bonus for RP or SL and it’s average reward per game is over double that of the F-15A. It’s sortie casualty rate is better than the F-15A at 83% and it is still worse than the F-2A’s 80% rate. The 80% casualty rate is uncharacteristically low for basically any premium plane as well.

MiG-29 SNIPER = 88%
F/A-18C Early = 86%
F/A-18C Swiss = 87%
JA-37 AMRAAM = 89%
F-20 = 85%
Su-30 Mk.2 = 80%

While I do not think Statshark can show all of the stats or exactly to what extent Gaijin can track them…I think analyzing them will show that there is a pretty noticeable discrepancy in how the F-2A tends to suck all of the air out of 12.0 - 13.0 rooms.

definitely needs to go to 13.3
till then great to farm bazillions of sl and rp in it

I think it is ok at 13.0. Give blue side the f2A. Give redside the J11 and Su27 at 13.0.

A bunch of aircraft are in-game with weapons or technology it didn’t have when initially introduced to service…

Farther than an AIM-120? R-27R? 80 km vs 50 km?

r27r has less range than even the aim 7f/m. gonna be utter useless against amraam

it evens out though. you can drop lock and reacquire whenever (ignoring the whole 60 s battery life it has)

So just to make this clear…

You think that an Su-27 or MiG-29 equipped with only R-27R is equivalent to an F-16 ADF equipped with AMRAAM?

R-27ER re-locking is already not a viable tactic at top tier. Attempting to do the same thing but with an even worse missile is a fools errand against basically any competent sim player.

When studying the blue main player, one must notice their unique mating call. “I can’t evade the R27er, it’s oppressive, it’s like a mica or something.” Their migratory path brings them to this location called the warthunder forum. Their population drops each year. Eventually conservation attempts by gaijin will help bring their numbers back. The most reliable population curving attempt is introducing the yearly premium aircraft.

If you’re gonna take away r-27er, might as well give the mig-29s r27a.
Much worse than 27er in kinematics but it’s at least an active radar missile

Cough cough r73

That remains to be seen.
IRL, AIM-120Cs overall are better in basically every regard to AIM-120A/B but in game its worst on medium to close ranges both kinematically and on AOA, overload performance.

I have serious doubts on Gaijin’s honesty to implement those drawbacks and not making it a checkmate ordnance as they really like to do when it comes to late Russian stuff.

Not much to be seen, we already have the r27r in game, the A would have identical kinematics, as the only change is the seeker.

I repeat, it remains to be seen.
They won’t add the R-27A, it has never been considered. The only rumors of an ARH R-27 ever been considered is the R-27EA, a missile objectively better for any practical role and purpose than the R-77/R-77-1.

Says who? The r27A was tested unlike the r27EA which makes it far more likely to be added.

Neither the Kh-38 was ever tested, but now not only is in Russia’s tree, but its also in Japan’s.
Stop being so naïve with Gaijin. At this point in the game’s cycle, they only need a bunch of specifications and they will add stuff if it makes sense for them. The R-27A does not makes sense whatsoever.

The kh 38 is in service… the 38T is the one which is controversial, which also unlike he 27EA we dont really know if it exist or not, as it is a gray area, the 27A like it or not does meet the current requirements for the game, so the comment from kizvy “might as well give the mig-29s r27a”, is very much a posibility.

Coincidentally, the variant being meta.

If they added a paper, unverifiable AGM so far, what makes you think they’d stop over a variant of a missile which already exists in game?

Its right there:

Kh-38 → Kh-38MT
R-27ET/ER → R-27EA

Your own logic is falling apart in front of you. Or again, you’re being naïve by thinking they’re going to hold back for historical accuracy.

you realize that there is a difference between unverifiable existence and verified inexistence… One applies to the kh38MT and the other applies to the R27A…

first you have to remember f-2 can play both blue and redside, its not locked to one side of the match maker. I would love to have a flanker on blue side though, when india sub tree eventually comes I’m sure su-30mki and su-30k will be amazing options for playing red side planes on blue.
also even if that happens the f-2 is just that much better than the su-27/j-11 for the average player.
AESA radar + 120 cms + Omega baby fm imo is much better than
omega good radar missiles + garbage radar + garbage rwr + baby fm
*for the average player
Experienced players won’t have that much trouble with the su-27 variants yes → but most people aren’t the average player.
su-27 definitely still does need to go to 13.0, but imo stuff like gripy and f-2 still should go up anyways. The only reason why the su-27 needs to go down is cause better planes ar ealready lower than it for some god forsaken reason for the past 2 years
and f-15a definitely shouldnt go to 12.7 thats just a joke lmao

Both should have the same result, but given how Gaijin acts, it’s irrelevant.

if you start giving in to the gray areas by splitting hairs, you’d eventually have to add a kilometric ton of ordnance from every other nation which, on some instances, outperforms Russian wunderwaffes in-game.
