is there anyway we could prepose for the stormer to have starstreak mk 2 so we atleast have 8k range with it
The only hard figure for Starstreak 2 is a range of greater than 7km, Gaijin would take that as 7km.
Wouldn’t do much in game unfortunately.
unless you have a new piece of information that shows a higher maximum range than the publically available 7km+ figure of Starstreak 1, Gaijin wont do anything.
We’ve had years of dicussion talking about how bs the 7km hard limit is and nothing has changed.
Yep and Mach 3.0+ top speed…Gaijin hard locked at Mach 3.0
Meanwhile we have no data on the BUK M3 missile…
1125 = 3.3M
Is there any information on when Starstreak Mk 2 entered service?
Statcard doesnt necessarily equal in-match speeds. Though even 3.3 is too low

This rule only work for plane-based missiles where the data is given for a certain height and speed. Ground-based missiles and helicopter atgm pretty much always hit their statcard max speed.
I just tested it in a quick game, (sorry singlehandedly keeping the stormer at 10.3 despite its nerfed state 3 ground kills and 3 air) Just at booster burnout it reaches mach 3.23, but the instant of booster cut out the sensor info panel for the projectile just disappears and seems to treat it like a generic projectile so I have no idea what end velocity it actually has.
Yeah. So 3.2-3.3 is probably what it can achieve. But would be good when it gets 3.5 and higher average velocity
does only say 7k+ ive lost where i got the 8k from but its also got a speed of mach 4
unfortunately i can only find things saying greater than 7k but hopefully the pdf might be able to give us back some of the armour penetration back as its designed to destroy heavily armoured targets.
mk 2 has been in service for a while as an upgrade package rather than a separate purchase
My understanding is that the starstreak dart should have around about the same pen as a 40mm fin rounds. Ive seen comparisons to the bofors gun so somewhere around 140mm of pen.
Whatever its eventual pen, it will be better than the made up 30mm statistic that it currently has.
Also new patch new (old) bug, 1st person cannot lock onto helicopters for seemingly no reason.
Exited a match where I had to hand aim every hittle because it would refuse to lock in the sniper camera :| even for targets hovering in the clear at 4km distance.
Okay one, wikipedia isn’t a be all or end all source. [Citation Needed] intensifies
Two, the non-explosive mass of starstreak is 450g, 50 grams less than 40mm m/90. Not all of that is metal.
Three, the starstreak hittle isn’t a solid penetrator, and is fairly hollow, when striking thicker armour it’s likely to crumple rather than penetrate. While 30mm is probably too low, anything higher that 60 would be pushing it
30mm first stage, darts have 50mm.
I had meant to write that it has a similar kinetic energy to the bofors 40mm.
And abusing Gaijins own penetration calculators for apcr it gives around about 90mm of pen.
There are test documents of starstreak against light vehicles but they are in Janes so A I cannot get access to it and B Gaijin will ignore it because Janes.
The nose section of the Dart is fairly hollow https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-j96Oven2mCE/VbzvhqMpj-I/AAAAAAAAFuk/m9chgWwWw5M/s1600/Starstreak%2BRTA_missiles.jpg the rest of it isnt, and Gaijin doesnt model crumpling or round deformation.
In any case the artificial 30mm stat is beyond stupid and should be changed, Gaijin added a special penetration model for the LOSAT, why not the Stormer.
they probably going to use the argument that is frangible but this means it doesn’t over pen the target
EG: It will go through 89mm But not 91mm
