Why is the Stormer HVM so bad?

Autolead would LEAD the missile, not just point directly at the target

It only provides autolead for guns

It’s not just point directly at the target. You won’t kill such target at this distance with adats with just point directly at the target plus your missile will wobble like crazy.

Ah I love the gameplay of abysmal garbage in the evening.
First game I spawn a stormer an SU-25 eats two starstreak flying head-on with zero attempt to dodge them.
Two good old “Hit!” markers and me receiving a rocket to the face while he carries on flying just fine after.
Incredible stuff.

Clearly havent made a recent enough or good enough blood sacrifice to the almighty snail

Anyone else having issues with HUD symbology being completely off compared to the radar? (note the IΔI in the HUD is the drone in the second pic)

Your seeing planes? Im bringing both stormers in my line up and the desert warrior grinding the rapier and spading the warrior and stinger stormer. Only games i see ANY air at all is when im crew locked on the two spaa i bring… Either 10.3 doesnt see air no more or gaijin are watching me and getting a laugh out of it…

Wouldn’t matter anyway due to how bugged the irst is.

Yup, best to ignore the symbology at the top and use the circle (dont know the name for it) as thats whats accurate.

I do and unfortunately it tends to be SU-25s, at which point I may as well be shooting BBs at it with how cracked their damage model is and how pathetic starstreak damage is against it.

Generally just results in a slightly irritated SU-25 going head-on while eating multiple shots and me dying to an S-25O that landed somewhere within 100m of me.

Try and aim for the wings, even a bit of wing damage sends them into a flatspin if they try and pull hard

Not even remotely true.
I typically aim at the wings.
No difference.

unless ive somehow bugged the mechanic… yes it does, thats why rapier is for some reason kinda decent in map view, because the game guides it infinitely better than i can in SACLOS.

Yea it does, my mind at that time for some reason thought about it as leading, and it does not do that. It does guide the missiles, and it is much more reliable than the standard lock.

I guess i am getting 405 every time now.

Sounds like I really need to check out this new radar mode thingy. I basically didnt look at it on the dev server and havent gotten round to looking at it on live yet either

Based and realismpilled War Thunder shitting on Teaboo delusions of superiority. A jet from the 70s which is known for being a worse A-10 irl should absolutely ignore any and all Bongoloid missiles as the effeminate suggestions of harm that they are. Russian aircraft-grade aluminium is simply too masculine and zased to kneel to Britannia (again).

Anyone seen or gotten an answer as to why the Stormer HVM is not allowed access to the new radar mode yet?

I tried but got ghosted

Right…

and we havent been told what those technical limitations are.

Because they dont apply to the Ozelot with the exact same IRST system

nor does it apply to any other beam-riding missile in-game.

So far it seems to be denied from the Stormer HVM, for completely made up reasons which dont actually exist. Which is especailly annoying because… it had it IRL.

report the ozelot radar screen as a bug?

That would be wrong, as it uses the exact same system, meanig it has acced to it irl.

It might have something to do with the unguidable boost phase, currently if you are having to shoot at an aircraft under about 3kms, you have to manually give it some lead before you fire, so that the missile doesn’t have to pull as much G’s to get on target. I’m assuming that the SPAA system is failing to predict it properly and every time you shoot at a close target it just doesn’t work.
