whats uh NCTR again?
Non-Cooperative Target Recognition. It lets the sensor determine what the target is. Depending on the sensor that could be simply classifying it as a jet / helicopter /etc. or identifying the specific model of aircraft (like you see with the MiG-15 in the post above).

good reason to write a suggestion to have it removed then
nctr is unreliable at best. your radar is absolutely not telling the difference between mig 15 or 17, mig-15 being used as a classification is therefore unrealistic
Feel free to do so then. As long as you can prove they are you should be clear.

It cannot ID a MIG-17 and largely groups target types together;
All target types are grouped into airframe categories, rather than specific models.
Feel free to have a read;
Harriers are a good example as it cannot tell the different betwen Gen1 and 2;
good to see something being more realistically modelled
If we cant fix/balance the Stormer HVM currently, can we get a Stormer HVM (Late) that has the flat panels on top of the launcher, aircraft ID, and Martlet missiles (as an option) because right now, the Martlet missiles are possibly the only way to make it an effective AA against anything that isn’t a helicopter.
The stormer (Late) could include the IFF system, as well as more missile options, allowing it to be placed at a better BR than the current HVM which only has access to Starstreaks.
OR (we could just fix the current stormer)
Make the IFF system a modification on the current HVM that will be visually added to the vehicle when you unlock it, and add Martlet (LMM) with a proxy detonating warhead.

genuinely, it would be the easiest way to fix majority of the issues that are in place with the stormer HVM and would likely calm down alot of the issues.
My report for the Stormer to get Martlets was accepted a few months back, dosen’t mean it will be added but at least they seem open to it

Lets pray they fix the Rapier and then add Martlet and the IFF panels then. I love the Stormer, I just wish she was the complete vehicle, not just half of what she is capable of.
so new modifications to unlock would be;
Modification - IFF
Modification - Martlet (LMM)
It would also be nice if they integrated the HE-P function to certain missiles too. like the same keybind allows you to switch the missile between impact fuse and proximity detonating, but I don’t know if they would do that.
The Martlet would turn the Stormer into a mini ADATS as they actually have some quite good armour penetration (500-600mm), having 16 of them on a fast chassis would be super fun
I’d also like to see some other Starstreak/Martlet armed vehicles such as the RapidRanger which is replacing the Stormers sent to Ukraine
I think that would also be a good reason to make a Stormer (Late) as a new vehicle, that way you can leave the standard stormer at its current BR with the Starstreaks, and add one around 11.3 with the Martlet because of the armour penetration.
Not saying that its a great idea, but for balance purposes…
Otherwise the current stormer may need a BR raise, to fit more around the ADATS.
I think thats a pretty good idea and I’d prefer to see two seperate Stormers.
Gaijin could argue that Britain now has like five 10.0-10.3 SPAA so moving the Stormer up to 11.0+ and giving it Martlets would make more sense, but I’d only support that if they fixed the Rapier so that it was actually useable

wholeheartedly agree. If rapier can be fixed, it would fill the same role as the stormer does currently and take its current BR, then the Stormer HVM can go up in BR and get its Martlet missiles and its IFF pannels making it the best British AA with the ADATS at 11.3/11.7 - I’d say possibly 11.3 or 11.0 just because of the worse range. Range is the one big decider on what the BR would be compared to the ADATS in this case I think.
