Why is the Stormer HVM so bad?

Is the Arjun even really a Challenger 1 equivlanet?

Unsure. However I still have the fear that it could be used to replace them. A fear I’d say is justified with how much they dislike working on CR2’s

Their justification would be that its development was 2004-present day.

Yeah, im surprised we havent just gotten a T-80 C&P to replace the CR2s yet

It’ll happen, im sure. Even the Bishma is better than CR2 imo. Thermals are just as good, and you get the added bonus of armour that sometimes works.

Honestly It’s more of a TTD equivalent just with a 120mm rifled gun as opposed to 105

Didnt think it would be very good.

Just wait until the best AA system we get isnt even used by Britain, and instead its one of the allied countries AA systems, like the ADATS being Canadian.

I have the personal belief that unless theres a sub tree, another nations vehicle should only be added when there ISN’T something the core country either developed and used or used available to fill the slot. For example, I’d rather have AS-90 over the M109, or even Abbot over something else from another nation. Or Sky Sabre over the Indian Akash or Spyder system, because it’s USED BY Britain. By all means, add the other systems used by the other nations, but add them later when Britain has all of its used and homegrown vehicles. Being the Great Britain tech tree, should mean that British vehicles should take priority.

Yep. I agree. Too many times British stuff have been replaced by sub-TT stuff.

I’m just playing the rapier for now. It’s better and that’s saying something.

Says something that when the stormer HVM is so bad in game, that the system it was designed to replace IRL is more reliable and better than it.

I do alright with it.
The missiles are fastish and they are hard for aircraft to spot

Dont bother engaging anything defending at more than 4-5km its an ambush sam

Would I love buffs and fixes for it…absolutely

To be honest, I cannot understand what technical limitations prevent Gaijin from adding a radar control interface. Is there something particularly unique about the Stormer HVM? Could it be due to the automatic lead calculation being overly inaccurate?

This is the only theory that makes sense. That the spaghetti code just cannot handle ACLOS for the Stormer HVM/Starstreak

However, I believe this should not be an excuse for Gaijin’s inaction. They should strive to fix this issue rather than stating in the Issue section that it is not a bug. I’m not sure if it’s possible to call upon a technical moderator or forum administrator to bring this issue to the developers’ attention, but I hope it can be fixed as soon as possible.

Stormer HVM does not have a radar screen, as it “Has a different system”

Edit: it was explained why.

Well guess now we know why.

I personally prefer to aim it manually than relying on the Radar Screen since it doesn’t have a proxy fuse. Needs a direct hit and Radar Screen will just make it inaccurate.

The radar screen would have allowed for it to filter drones (the rage i feel watching my friendlies launch drones knowing theyll never use it and itll just act as clutter for me for the rest of the match) as well as team mates in general. Plus, the situational awareness you gain from it is worth its weight in gold.

For the first part. All they need to do is add the IFF + NCTR.

Though Gaijin is proving just as lazy for that.

But yeah, I’m sure they could add the radar screen just without the functionality to have ACLOS

I sincerely hope that the developers can address this issue as soon as possible, rather than acknowledging the problem but not resolving it. If I recall correctly, IFF and NCTR have not yet been implemented.

For the HVM? Yes, they were not.
