I’d say that the USA’s Merkava Mk1 is the best at 9.0 BR. Its also somehow more protected than the Merkava Mk1.B in Israel because it has tracks outside of the front hull armor, and it has a 30mm thick RHA plate behind the transmission, to compare, Israel’s Merkava Mk1.B(same tank but more upgraded) has a 10mm thick RHA plate behind the transmission and no tracks in the front hull. None of the APFSDS shells in 9.0 BR can penetrate the USA’s Merkava Mk1 from the hull’s front.
M111, 3BM4, and DM33(105) can easily pen the Merkava hull… heck I’ve seen a BMP-2M do it with its 30mm APFSDS round lol
i think the tiger 2 H rightly deserves 7.0, how is it the same br as the (p)? its only frontal weakspot is literally 80% stronger, while eliminating trapshot weakpoint.
other 6.7 heavies that imo deserve 7.0: t26e5, t34, object 248.
op kv1 variants only need their op stalinium angle pen adjusted and then i think they would be fine.
how the hell does a APHEBC shell achieve better angle performance than HEAT shell again?
object 279 is strange: every time i see it in my matches it achieves 18 kills 0 deaths and its enemy team just stops existing. but that is probably only because of only mostly very experienced players + a strong all rounder vehicle that noobs just dont know how to kill. if it were to become more common, it would not be nearly as effective as casuals would learn how to deal with it.
on the other note, i think the 9.3 t72 is more op for its own rating than the 279, but because its more common people dont panic against it as much.
Fighter tiger 2s with 7.7 tanks already feels incredibly weird. I’m rolling around, fully stabilized with armour good enough to bounce shells from long88 and able to pen them anywhere I look.
I really don’t want to be fighting tiger 2s with my vickers MBT or cent mk10. That’d be peak insanity.
Chief MK10? only if its point blank. Death by AHPE through capula is considered an extremely rare event at least for me, I play this thing entirely camping until I get bombed, I mean why would I’d be driving around with that shitty ass hull right? I do remember one time I got overpressured through the capula was by VIDAR in European province, that’s after I took 3-4 hits and was surprised that I didn’t die by the first shot lol. Capula weakspot is definitely cannot be utilize by the Object 279 with its shitty sight zoom, even less likely if it’s >600m, it’s not somewhere you can reliably hit unless you have LRF, hitting that spot might be slightly easier with T-55AM
T26E5 is fine at 6.7 tbh but T34 is worse than the T29 and the reload really holds it back.
The Object 248 is just worse than the Tiger 2H at everything and even at 6.7 it’s not strong.
The angle pen is somewhat historical and the angle mod being better than HEAT is a statcard problem.
It’s still more versatile than its competition and will always have the upper hand.
Don’t know why you think that when the 279 is better than the T-72A and a lower BR.
Assuming you’re talking about 7.7 UK the tanks should get a major buff to APDS and move up in BR. The Conqueror especially is so weird to use. It’s op against the other 7.7 heavies but total trash against SPGs, light tanks and SPAA.
If it weren’t for the 279 at 9.0 they (and other 8.0/8.3 tanks) could easily move up and get an APDS buff.
I’ve got my cupola sniped by SPAA at almost 2km and much more often at close range.
You can aim for the upper left turret from your pov and either go through the roof or cupola.
All the shells you mentioned can be fully stopped by the transmission & engine, the DM33 can barely damage the crew. Btw I played in realistic battle and I used Merkava Mk1.B, a BMP-2M shoot me with his 30mm gun from like 200 meters in the front hull, penetrated through the engine and killed my last crew member lol
From my experience Merkavas from the front are easy to kill and only on side shots the hull produces 0 spall. I also checked both US Merkavas and the damage model doesn’t seem to have any major differences.

At 9.0 it was fine, the 279 sort of has a shit position. If it goes down, it becomes untouchable, but now 10.0s are moving up, maybe the 279 is in a fairer place for it?
8.7 it was still lol-penned by everything at its BR, and still easily penned by M48s… I know cause I was both the M48s and facing the M48s.
Also when in a downtier, there was at most 2 279s in the entire match, and that was once.
But yeah, with more decompression it’s probably balanced at 9.0 instead of being the unplayable mess it is currently.
It’s like if the Maus was put to 8.x.

well there is enough difference(20-40mm) in the front hull armor so you are more likely to survive being shot in the front while using the USA Merkava Mk1 compared to the Israeli Merkava Mk1.B(basically nonsense but lets agree to gaijin). Also the Merkava Mk1(USA) can handle CE shells better than the Object 279 in front, and it has DM33 APFSDS shell equipped too.
I think 279 is fine to sit at a BR where it’ll often come across darts like DM23 and equivalents, which is 9.0 by the way.
To be fair man it absolutely wasnt great for downtiers when it was 8.7
It isnt lol penned to get hit by a 90mm heat round in a 50s discontinued heavy. I never had an issue with for example, the amx30 taking out a 279, heat actually works wonders onit.
But once i came across them with apds slingers. It changed my outlook.
Its like i said, was a monster in a 7.7 downtiers, mind you, leo1 used to be 7.3!, at in 9.7 was pretty easily taken out due to everone having apfsds. but, its gun and round are absolutely phenomenal if used right as its highly mobile (for a heavy)

Maus is largely immune to 90mm HEATFS when played correctly, and can be immune to 105mm HEATFS depending on angling.

The maus? Ive never had an issue with it with heat even when folks try angle it for it, with aphe and other ap rounds sure, hollow charge never tbh.
Heat and heatfs are under rated af at those brs tbh a lot of folks overlook them.
Not saying the maus isnt formidable but it also sits where its in an area most 7.7s wreck it
