150rds at 1700rpm, mounted low, damage is inconsistent… can’t say I’m a fan, especially when you have no reliable missiles to use alongside it.
IIRC Thailand tried to make an M39 gunpod, but the vibrations apparently started messing with the electronics so it was canned; I’d much rather have that.
Anyway, it’s a fine aircraft on its own, but you do rely on meeting paid actors for reliable kills. Better in Air Sim for sure.
I had assumed they retained the same FM as the prior alpha jets, if only slightly worse. For an attacker, that is completely adequate. Were it not an attacker, it would be a problem. But attackers pay a greater toll for being half competent.
Gonna be real, if you want you can have the gunpod Akans on the AJS and ill take the BK-27 lol. Accept instead of just bad placement they also have terrible accuracy
Give the Akan credit, it may be a bit terrible, but you only have to hit them once.
The issue is that it’s more often than not a fighter. Your “CAS” loadouts are 4 napalm, OR 6 rocket pods, OR 6 regular ~500lb bombs. Not great. You also have to give up all your missiles for those.
And in Air RB there isn’t much CAS you can do, that others can’t do just as effectively. The J35XS in question is just as capable of strafing the various ground units on the map.
Which one is the Akan m/55 supposed to be? I had no issues with ADENs from the Hunter and Harrier, even with default belts that are 50% AP. Very reliable guns IMO.

The swedish 30mm have a 75% chance to be utterly useless or instant hanger senders.

Yeah, I agree, I would put it down if it were within my power. But unfortunately, attacker tax. Same issue with tornadoes.

I saw its loadouts, I was asking which gun it was under the renaming.
Turns out it’s an ADEN. Maybe the swedish ammo is just bad? The ADENs I’ve used worked perfectly.
See i like the Adens, but its the Akan M/55 gunpod that decides to shoot rounds 30 to 40° in a random direction meaning its like having a shotgun spread but with each round being a pellet… guess the Swedes decided to use rusty barrels for their guns lol
