Why is the is-6 in 7.7?

I did not say “don’t angle”, I said it hardly helps in the IS-4M, especially against HEAT.

Just check my profile on WarThunder. It’s not hidden for a reason.

I’ve used the 76mm HEAT extensively. I was stuck with the German Bulldog for a long time.

76mm HEAT has 254mm of pen

Either way, that’s more than enough to deal with a Heavy Tank. Especially when the 76mm HEAT is found at 6.7 and 7.0 lol

That’s pretty interesting, but what’s the probability?

Depends on how good of a shot you are but on average its like a 50/50 for me.

7.7 is broken, all can pen this turret and shots can do anything. Long recharge and encounter missiles and heatfs… 7.0 is correct

Oh my god… Russian players complaining that their vehicles aren’t OP enough. LMAO

Stop always saying “players from this nation cry!” — if you want to reply, bring arguments, otherwise don’t bother.
This is a serious issue we’re discussing here. We’re talking about a premium vehicle that people have paid real money for. That makes balancing even more important.

First, it’s not a serious issue, because the IS-6 simply has no problems and is perfectly fine at BR 7.7… Those who complain simply have skill issues. You know how it is… Money can’t buy talent… You can buy all the premium vehicles you want, but if you can’t use them, then in my opinion you should at least have the decency not to come to the forum and cry because your vehicle isn’t OP enough.

And since you brought up the issue of premium vehicles that should be at a lower BR, Russia is the least of the problems in the game. Most Russian vehicles are undersized and are at lower BRs when they should be at higher BRs.

Meanwhile, Italian premium vehicles have real problems:

EDIT: Typo corrected

  1. Why should I care about the problems of Italian vehicles? Aren’t you the one “complaining that their vehicles aren’t OP enough”? Or its a skill issue?

  2. I never said want the IS-6 OP. That’s not the point of this thread at all. If you’re just here to flame, please stop. This thread exists because some players, myself included, believe the IS-6 is not properly balanced at its current BR, and we’ve explained why above. If a Tiger II at 6.7 can pen me frontally in the turret, why is the IS-6 sitting at 7.7 and regularly facing 8.7?

Nobody is asking for an overpowered vehicle. We’re asking for fair BR placement based on actual performance. At its current BR, the IS-6 is bottom tier in 7 out of 10 matches.

I am an average player, and I want the chance to play on equal terms, honestly and fairly.

If you’re not willing to discuss this seriously, please don’t reply again or I’ll have to report the thread for disruptive behavior.

First, I answered you seriously. The real problem is that I didn’t tell you what you wanted to hear to say… Which is why you’re angry now… You can’t accept the fact that people are saying that IS-6 is fine at BR 7.7, and you’re not the only player who has said that IS-6 is fine at BR 7.7… I suggest you reread the messages on this post. Taking it out on me because you don’t like the answer I gave you is crazy.

Second, I made a comparison with a minor nation to make you understand how hypocritical it is to complain about Russian vehicles. Russia is one of the strongest nations in the game, due to the fact that many vehicles have a lower BR than they should have… So, going back to the discussion, no one wants to see another Russian vehicle with a lower BR than it should really have.

Thirdly, the point of the discussion is to lower the BR of the IS-6 to make it stronger. I have already answered this, at the risk of being repetitive but in the right: the IS-6 is fine where it is at BR 7.7.

That said, you’ve got your answer. If you don’t like the answer, then report me, but you become the problem, not me, since you’re clearly covering up the answers you don’t like.

It has a lot of problems. As the only thing going for it is the br471d, which is good yes but its a glass cannon at 7.7 because 99% of the matches you get at 7.7 are full uptiers, which puts you in the same BR as the M60A1 Rise, Tiran 6, and other fully stabilized apfsds flingers, with composite armor and era while your stuck with pretty much just raw steel, and thats not even including what you can face if 9.7 players get a downtier. They need to decompress BRs, as the IS-6 shouldnt be fighting these but also shouldnt be fighting shermans either.

If i wanted it to be stronger i would of asked for better armor, better gun, etc. It is simply not capable of fighting at 7.7 when you get penned by legit everything in your br, penned by a lot of things in lower brs, and cant even begin to compete in an uptier with its un-stabilized 122 with a long reload

This is a decompression problem that can be fixed by increasing the BR of all other vehicles in the higher tiers, including the Russian ones, bringing them to higher BRs. There is no need to lower the BR of the IS-6.

I don’t know how you interpreted my answer… but by ‘making it strong’ I meant that if you lower the BR of the IS-6, it becomes more difficult for all other vehicles to destroy the IS-6, and the IS-6 has a better chance of destroying all other vehicles.

This is a good response: “Increase the BR of other tanks and don’t decrease that of the IS6.” This is a constructive response from someone who wants to engage in discussion and not constantly say “Russian BIAS, USSR strong nation, you’re crying, skill issue".

Ultimately:
If you are a strong, above-average player (like Hetaeron), you can play well with any tank, so buy the IS-6 because you can make a lot of money (which is why the overall stats of the IS-6 are incredible).

If you are an average player, like most of us (the average player base, in fact), do not buy the IS-6 because it is a scam as it is now.

IS_6 is fine where it is, I never said it’s a scam, to give you an example a real scam is Ariete Certezza which is at BR 11.7 but Gaijin refuses to fix his armor that’s a real scam

That remains your opinion, and no one is saying that you said it.

My opinion is as stated above. Looking back, I wouldn’t buy it and would save up to get the T-55AM-1.

Imo they should just rework the outdated turret and gun mantlet model of the IS-6. According to blueprints of the tank, the gun mantlet should be way thicker.
