The Type 81 should be 11.0 I don’t know why they put it so low its missiles are near undodgeable you need to outrange it. It also doesn’t have radar allowing it to hide from enemy bombers assuming the map doesn’t corral you in to spawn.
The Strela has 20G missiles, the Chaparral has 13G after buff missiles, why are they the same BR range when the Strela also has better lock capabilities?
You are thinking of the stinger carriers. Chaparral has 18G pull

No we don’t. In fact the linked army manual says otherwise giving the strela a larger max range than the stinger (7-6 kilometers) as well as having IRCCM (the 10M2 upgrade focused primarily on seeker head range issues if this, https://doklady.bsuir.by/jour/article/view/1140?locale=en_US, synopsis of a russian text is to be believed).

The FIM-92C has a a max range of 4.8 kilometers. (While I can’t find any direct sources from the manufacturer 4.8km is a commonly repeated on every sight I looked at, if they stated the range).

The stinger is stated to have 20-22g of maneuverability.

While I couldn’t find any statement about the strela’s max G, 20 seems about right.
The stinger is not comparable to a larger non man portable missile. They serve very different roles with the strela due to how warthunder works being superior as infantry isn’t a factor in game.
But uh for the main discussion at hand idk, probably because Br changes haven’t come around after it got its photo contrast mode. Honestly the strela is better than the Chaparral and with photo contrast mode should NOT be at 9.3 anymore.

18G, 20G, Strela has better tracking and locking.
Yes, strela had worse locking when they did br changes. That is why it wasnt moved up.
Now it has better heli locking.
Correct. I fully expect it to go up in the next br change. Even with the optical nerf, it locks helis much better than the MIM and FIM

Not exactly true. When they first added the optical tracking, I could lock planes from 6-7km out. Now, clear skies allow for 6km max and all other weather is about 3km max if it decides to lock. IR is 3.5km
Since gaijin decided to make like 80% of matches dense fog or cloudy weather, the optical tracking is only better than the IR for helis.
