30mm APDS and 4 of the best ATGMs at its BR on an unmanned turret. It has as much hull armor as the T-90M, and even more armor on the neck part. The turret itself has very few parts where you can hit to do any damage, destroying the missiles doesnt destroy the tank and destroying the ammo chutes, apart from being really hard, also doesnt destroy the thing. The roof armor is too thick to be able to overpressure it by hitting it with HE any smaller than 155mm at anywhere but the commander’s and gunner’s optics. To hit those optics with 155mm HE, you would 100% need to laze it. Problem is, the BMPT-72 also gets LWR, so lazing it with any of the vehicles that carry 155mm HE would lead the BMPT to just maul you alive. The tech tree BMPT also gets 30mm HE-TF, which, along with its IRST, allows it to also fairly easily destroy the aircraft at its BR.
+There is also the fact that it can face 9.3 vehicles, which have basically no chances against it.
There are definitely more gripes i forgot to mention on this, so i will resume with comparing it to another vehicle with an autocannon in an unmanned turret at its BR.
Enter, the PUMA. Way less armor at any angle, larger profile, the turret is more susceptible to being disabled, hitting the turret with basically any HE will overpressure it, no missiles, worse anti-air capability than the tech tree BMPT. But at least the PUMA gets 40mm more pen, so thats definitely a good enough reason to put it at the same BR as both BMPTs (sarcasm).
In my opinion, based on similar vehicles in other nations, the BMPTs would fit much better in 11.3.
The simple answer? Its a russian premium. They saw it as an opportunity to boost the already overpowered 10.3 russian premium lineup that was already there and hoping people would cash in on it.
Its definitely RNG as ive had the same. One game ive destroyed one hitting ammo like other missile IFVs then other times it doesnt do a thing, most likely the RNG caused by desync in the server not being able to handle the massive ping differences between players
You’re not wrong. But that’s not how Gaijin does business.
We see it frequently…Gaijin builds a massively OP vehicle for sale, sets it at a BR much lower than it should be, and then releases it to the wallet warriors.
It’s a very large middle finger to the bulk of their player base that doesn’t lemming towards these sales with their wallets in hand.
100% agree the BMP-T at 10.3 is abysmal, i recently played against it, and it is NOT FUN because you cannot kill it if it’s hull down and the lfp is not exposed, side shots sometimes don’t work to your favour because of the spall liner, and because you can’t ammorack it via the turret now it for sure needs to be at least 11.0
