Why is the B-57A at 8.3 while the Ar 234-B2 at 6.3?

I was discussing a topic regarding bombers, and I thought about the American B-57A vs the German Ar 234 B-2 and compared the two plane. They got generally the same speed, acceleration (?), flight performance, bomb load, and I am wondering why the BR gap between the two is so massive (you know what else is massive?) Am I missing something? Plus both aircraft has no front or rear gunner. So they are VERY identical overall.

You can dogfight in a canberra and win easily.

canberra doesnt have gun… but guess what, the Ar 234 C-3 at ((7.3)) do.

oh yea i know the british one has one but im strictly referring to the B-57A in US tree, sorry but I forgot to clarify

even without guns you can defend yourself quite well by just outturning your foe until they bleed out of energy and crash

The gunless B-57s would probably be too fast for any BR lower than 7.7.

The Ar-234 at 6.3 is very slow, especially when taking off from a runway, and has a fraction of the bomb load, preventing it from even destroying a base (which heavily reduces rewards).

The B-57A is hugely faster than that bomber barely faster than a Ju-288, has far more bombs, and integral bomb bay.

ohh i see, thanks. From a prop plane perspective it seems very fast but i guess not 8.3 fast.

They have nowhere near the same bomb load, the B-57 can bring anywhere from 4-8x the bombs that the Ar-234 can. Plus, the B-57 is more than 25% faster than the Ar-234B-2; they are nowhere near comparable.

Primarily due to speed. It’s perhaps a weak reason, but it’s a good enough reason. It is much faster than the Arados.

watch out the B-57B can’t dogfight
