Team killing and the general competitiveness to reach bases as it is remains a major headache for the average F84F bomb run. If other F84Fs got airspawn it would be magnitudes worse, with skies awash in them, making it effectively impossible to make a successful run. I wish they’d up the damage level and make the bases themselves require multiple runs to destroy, which would alleviate this issue entirely, but that doesn’t seem likely.
Stronger bases could help, more fun would be the return of the destructable airfield. That would both be an teameffort and something to contribute to if you are not the first to the 4 bases.
I suspect they don’t implement these types of more involved gameplay dynamics because it elongates match times, resulting in longer queue times, which is Gaijin’s worst enemy. Everything seems designed to keep up speedy queue times at the expense of all else, though that’s just a theory. But suffice it to say, if destroying bases and airfields was an actual teamwork-designed objective, requiring multiple players to accomplish, it would be more strategic and a lot more fun.
why
Ok so why not remove the USA airspawn
Gotta have at least one useful F84F in game.
Not good reasoning. Got any other bad reasons?
You can say the same thing with any aircraft.
Most Bombers are not properly modeled from texture-wise to damage model, lack proper survivability, or how bombers were implemented remains poorly done. While other damage models were so heavily modeled to the point that they tank more than they should.
I think they got the F-84F flight model wrong, some way. This plane has been used by aerobatic teams around the world, certainly by the Italian ones until the 1960 (they performed at the opening of the Rome Olympic Games that year). Knowing how the Italian aerobatic teams flies, I find difficult recognizing a plane that in game is performing poorly, even without any payload.

Any update on this or is the F84F still useless?
still useless, usa one still only one that airspawns
So that it can use airspawn. Either way it doesn’t matter as long as it’s at 8.3. It belongs at 7.7
Same br as the F-84G? Would disagree with you on that one. It’s better at almost everything
8.0 makes sense though (along with uptiering the F-86A-5 and MiG-15s back to where they belong)
It turns FAR worse and also accelerates worse. The only advantage of F-84F is better CAS capabilities, and a SLIGHTLY higher top speed.
Though imo, the YA-10A should take its place as 8.3 CAS anyways.
The F-84F is the successor and upgraded variant of the F-84G.
But the F-84G actually does have a significant edge over the F-84F’s terrible acceleration (which as one user stated above is quite strange considering the flight model seems off compared to real pilot reports and tests)
It also doesn’t lose as much speed or energy in turns thanks to its straight-over swept wings. Which is crucial to have in a rate or dogfight.
Sure, the F-84F has a higher overall top speed along with more modern bombs and Mighty Mouse rockets along with CCIP but that’s it.
At nearly an entire BR bracket higher which is also supersonic/IR missile territory. The F-84F cannot hope to be regarded to be an enjoyable aircraft play when it already struggles against its subsonic contemporaries like the F-86, G.91 or MiG-15 at the same BR or lower. (God forbid anyone plays the Israeli, French, Italian or German F-84F that gets no airspawn at all).
The F-84G with air spawn can be much better than the F-84F if purely used as a fighter.
IMO, it could still go down to 8.0 minimum easily in Air Realistic.
I’m sorry to say, but the “more modern” bombs have less explosive filler than WW2 bombs, and Gajin removed the CCIP.
It still has CCRP though
Yeah, but so does the F-84B-26. I’ve switched between the F and the B in my 8.3 lineup multiple times. The 1,000lbs on the F-84B are more than twice as likely to kill than the 1,000lbs on the F-84F. The only thing that makes the F-84F worth having over the F-84B-26 is the 2,000lb bombs it gets.
Does it though?
Wanted to do some screenshots for a Wiki article about CCRP last week, and in the F-84F it showed me “no ballistic computer”…
Don’t remember which F-84F I tried though.
CCRP for the F-84F came and went quite a few times already, iirc. It never had CCIP or at least it should not have it.
