For many years Kugelblitz was br. 7.0 which is absolutely nonsence.
Kugelblitz is old vehicle from WW2 designed to kill LA-7 and other low altitude prop planes but its fighting agance cold war vehicles and jets. IT WAS DESIGNED TO FIGHT AGANCE PLANES AND NOT TANKS! If anyone use it agance tanks, then you cannot complain for dying. I am complaing about performance of Kugelblitz agance jets and that fact due to high BR it has to deal with cold war era vehicles with 50+ years more modern design
Just to sumary what Kugelblitz is…
- its slow pz IV vehicle 39 km/h with no armor, no radar, no laser, no rockets, no anything
- short burst of 100 rounds with long reload
- AP round does 58mm pen (i dont count 77mm HVAP, we all know that sh*t does not work)
so as you can see nothing realy special and specialy useless agance cold war jets. Now lets do little comparsion with other nations, just to show you, it has worse performance that other spaa agance air and vs ground:
GERMANY:
BR 6.7 - (Kugelblitz) - 39 km/h, 58 mm pen, 450 rpm + LONG RELOAD after 100 rounds
BR 6.0 - (Zerstörer 45) - same everything + 2x more cannons
USA, JAPAN, :
BR 4.0 - (M42) - 72 km/h, 72mm pen, 120 rpm
CHINA:
BR 5.0 - (Phòng không T-34) - 55 km/h, 70 mm pen, 120 rpm + GREAT ARMOR
BR 5.7 - (ZSD63/PG87) - 60 km/h, 63 mm pen, 600 rpm
BR 6.3 - (ZSL92) - 88 km/h, 63 mm pen, 500 rpm
URRS:
BR 3.3 - (ZiS-12 94-KM) - 51 km/h, 57 mm pen, 240 rpm
BR 3.7 - (ZSU 37) - 42 km/h, 70 mm pen, 160 rpm
BR 6.0 - (BTR-ZD) - 61 km/h, 57 mm pen, 800 rpm
Just to show you how ludicrous is to have Kugelblitz in 6.7 here are a vehicles with basically same BR but on completly different level of performance.
URRS:
BR 7.0 - (ZSU-57-2) - 50 km/h, 157 mm pen, 120 rpm
BR 7.3 - (ZSU-23-4M2) - 50 km/h, 51 mm pen, 850 rpm
GERMANY:
BR 7.0 - (Flakpanzer 341) - 46 km/h, 87 mm pen, 250 rpm
Kugelblitz is worse in every category, speed, pen, armor + long reload compare to other vehicles and yet its 6.7 for some reason.
I heard people saying argument “it cannot die from .50” is kinda lazy, makes no sence and its a lie. pz IV gets penetrated by .50 from side and from back. Every airplane since 3.0+ already have 20mm and more so every plane in 6.7 will smite Kugelblitz without hesitation.
BTW SKINK is far more better armored agance .50 cal everywhere and yet its only br 5.3 and not 6.7 but like i said this does not even make sence because every plane will already have 20mm cannon.
Lets be realistic here.
Kugelblitz have similiar performance as ZiS-12 (94-KM) at 3.3. Advantage of ZiS-12 (94-KM) is movement speed and no long reloads.
Stuff like ZSU 37 is already post war era (1945 vehicle) have higher pen 70mm in 3.7 , better performance againce ground but not agance air targets
ww2 era vehicles like italy M42 Contraereo at 3.7 is better with amazing long belt, 2x more cannons, same penetration and faster turret rotation (its literally Kugelblitz on steroids)
All of this means the BR range where Kugelblitz should by sitting is between 3.3 - 3.7 and yes it will be comparable to other vehicles with its performance from this era
Of course this problem is much deeper that that. Its not only Kugelblitz but all german ww2 spaa. Lets see where WW2 spaa ends and where cold war starts:
Russia have at 6.0 BTR-ZD (1974) which is already better than any german ww2 spaa
Japan have at 5.3 mitsubishi sub I-II (1973), again, the performance cannot be even compared to ww2 vehicles with short magazine betls, slow boxy body and long reload.
ITALY at 6.0 R3 T20 FA-HS (1976) fully stabilised speed devil with incredibly long ammo belt. Comparsion with ww2 Kugelblitz is just sad at this point.
In my opinion maximum BR for german WW2 spaa (except Flakpanzer 341) should be 1 br lower than Cold war vehicles, this means BR 4.3. This is the hard line.
All of them Zerstörer 45, Kugelblitz, Wirbelwind are slow moving, short belt, long reload vehicles and they belong to ww2 era. tp fight agance ww2 planes.
This does not mean all of them should be BR 4.3, no. Take as a golden standard M42 Contraereo and now match the performance with Wirbelwind or Zerstörer 45,. Both of them are slightly worse with much shorter ammo betls and turret speed compare to italian boy. Do the comparsion for yourself and tell me your opinion.
GAIJIN IS JUST EXTREMLY LAZY AND INSTEAD OF ADDING MORE VEHICLES THEY JUST PLACES WW2 STUFF UP TO 6.7 SO THEY FILLED THE GAP WITH SOMETING FOR GERMAN PLAYERS.
