Why is it so difficult hit a drone !?

ergo: game simplifies physics so much you get arcade behaviour in RB/SB with gets way worse with modern “aircraft” over props and you get propoising movement without actual energy bleed

This is based on videos I’ve seen of drones doing the same dolphin LARP as that sabre in my report did.

You can observe this happening artificially by going into Test flip/Mission editor and trying to give the A.I jet aircraft.

Better question why make them artificially vibranium and adamantium compound.
They are modeled on ZALA 421-08.
So that thing weights 1.7 KG and got 0.8m wingspan and 0.41m lengt.

Now lets talk how that flying cardboard could even remotely survive from ANY aa missiles proxy explosion.

Basically any and every hit should destroy the drone on the spot. To top it off, drones should have a limited usage time.

They shouldn’t, we all know that. The real problem is the community trying to turn what’s wrong into something “acceptable”, just for their own benefit.

There’s a player spotting enemies so everyone knows their positions using a drone, what am I supposed to do, if not try to shoot down that drone in the best way I can with what I have access to at the moment ???

Then use a suitable tool to do so. If the Ozelot isn’t that tool, try the Gepard. Begleitpanzer 57 also seems to be quite good against drones, I think.

The anti air defense system that is useless against the very threat it was qualified for?

Maybe we should just fix the performance against drones because if it can instantly lock on there is no reason for it to instantly lose track once in the air or is there?

Not to mention we have multiple videos of drones being engaged by stingers irl.

If its flying away from you, the HE-VT will detonate way sooner and you will be scoring a lot of hits but no critical or severe damage because shockwaves arent a thing in this game for cannon munitions and you are hoping for a tiny fragment to hit something vital while most of them go past it due to its small size. Anything touching a drone should be able to impede its flight or outright disable it, but that does not happen, instead we have proxy fuse missiles failing to detonate, HE-VT that does not work at certain angles and autocannons that require half your ammo to hit them due to dispersion.

Drones were the worst vehicle addition to this game, hands down. Everything about them is utter bullshit. Just a bad idea followed by bad design. The fact that they can’t be hit by cannons shooting anything other than HE VT or AHEAD ammo is, well, just more design goodness from the wizards at Gaijin.

This community works with the mindset of: “If I don’t have a problem, then you don’t have a problem either.”

When in reality, it should work like this: “You noticed an issue? Alright, we’ll check it. And if the problem actually exists after testing a few hundred matches, we’ll fix it and back up that information.”

It’s sad that there are always people who completely discredit others just for sharing their experience, as if their own perfect view of the game applies to everyone. Even when playing the exact same pixels on the screen, problems can still exist, and those issues should be analyzed and sent for proper testing so they can be fixed.

Drones are bullshit. Even at 50m, using a Sho’t Kal Dalet that has 4 machine guns, you cant hit the damn things. I did find out that the lead circle in arcade is calibrated for the main cannon and its projectile, not MGs.

Either way something is off and they need to have a much large hit box given how they affect the game.

Everyone wants the broken shit and no one else can have it. Sad people are so damn selfish they would rather let something kill the very game they play then support fixing it.

BMPT, i have it and want the damn thing nerfed into Narnia. Its broken, busted and OP doesnt even come close to describing it.
CAS, broken, busted and overused. I refuse to use or take part in it.

Gepard has serious issues shooting it down even with radar lock unless its closer then 500m.

The only full proof way to drop a drone is using something like PZH 2000 with prox rounds.

I think anything with proximity fuse works well, be that missiles (although as OP stated and I seen as well, IR guided missiles fail by not tracking the drones and thus not getting within fuse range reliably…) or shells.

OTOMATIC is fun to clap drones.
