That’s why I don’t play the FV4005 anymore, getting strafed way too much and the thought of being there just to entertain CAS players and feeding them points just makes me sick to my stomach. The reload and the damage inconsistency doesn’t stop me from playing it, the stupid planes did lol
Criticism is now counted as trolling :S
Ok good to know.
This is a hilariously bad take sorry to say. Just some kind of cover up to not fix it?
Have you not seen the IrL power of a HESH round??
The FV4005 should straight up destroy a tiger 2 Is-3 or any other equivalent heavy tank with a solid slap to even its thickest armour.
I dont know if HESH is accurately modelled or not…i ADMIT i am not an expert on this…BUT i saw LOTS of good kills with HESH, so not useless as said/hinted above…
What i said above and several times on this and other topics…is that FV4005 is a Glass Canon as many others in game and not a particularly good…but not a trash vehicle for sure.
Not sure if BR is correct…but this is debated on several topics on several vehicles…
BUT…if you want HESH to be “corrected” you have to be clear and honest about it…that is my suggestion…just saying “it is useless” is not going to help…
It’s a glass cannon in which the cannon isn’t even consistent. It’s just glass at 6.3
BTW…i would AGREE with a change that made the gun more effective…or at least more reliable…the vehicle is playable but surely not dominant…
If it is a realistic change so much the better…
(I didn’t see the reply above…not sure what was the intent)
I can’t help but think if it recieved overpressure like normal HE it would be perfectly fine, or just absolutely nuke everything (228mm HE pen would be hilarious). But you consistently see a HE round with 7ish KG of TNT consistently 1 shotting things, why shouldnt a round with 21.7kg onetap?
Most glass canons are not consistent…that is part of my point…FV4005 is not worse than almost all russian TDs (as an example) that have slow reloads and inconsistent shells…
Every week i get a shot with a great gun absorbed by an optics module or hit a unarmored vehicle for minimal effect…not limited to Fv4005…
Most russian TDs have effective armour (at least frontally), and won’t die to a .50 cal round if you somehow only manage to track or barrel the enemy…
They have other issues…and in the end this is a matter of defining the correct BR for the gun and specific issues of each vehicle…
The issue of inconsistent gun is more GENERAL IMHO…it happens in all vehicles in the game and it is more annoying in glass canons as they are very vulnerable to return fire…
Not specially worse in FV4005
AGAIN…if HESH should be stronger…i admit i don’t know…but bear in mind that if made (much) stronger it may actually INCREASE the BR(s)…beware what you wish for…
EDIT:
I would be fine with a FV4005 with a stronger gun at same BR…“gut feeling” i dont’t see an issue…but you have to “sell” this to devs…not me :)
So here is the truth, you don’t know….
If you don’t know something kindly refrain from commenting.
There are many out there I name @Caernarvon02 who has done much research into the HESH round.
its not even that bad bro chill goofy British mains, I bring my centurion mk.5 avrd or whatever to top tier and its soooo good it gets me 100000 nukes.
^ how “op” gaijin thinks uk tanks are
The topic is NOT about HESH…that would be here (for instance):
My comments are that Fv4005 is playable as many other glass canons and that i can have an opinion on.
Also suggested that making a point may be better with less hyperbole. Bear in mind THERE ARE lots of posts on this topic that seem to me to be accurate…
It is not a playable tank. It is used more as a meme tank than as a tank of any significant value in a battle…
It is armed with a naval artillery cannon that fired a round that was designed to take out fortifications.
The 76mm HESH on the scorpion light tank was enough to throw foot long scabs off a several inch thick plate. These scabs would have been moving through the tank at near Mach 1.
I think this topic is any HESH, FV4005 only really has one option for its tank killing (the whole goal of the game)
something like FV4005 would be about 7.3 with an accurate shell true, don’t think the AVRE will go up much if at all considering the range on the demolition charge. Id be fine with this as it would be facing (and able to easily kill) its intended targets.
war thunder is consistently inconsistent even with the most reliable ordinance, HESH is by far the least reliable In game to the point of it being next to useless.
I have my 4005 and AVRE relegated to getting a hitmaker on spawncampers that are inside our spawn duties only nowadays
You say you are not an expert, but call people trolls. I find this extremely unserious.
I only wish the AVRE has range finder so I can do indirect fire to troll the enemies lol this thing is not something easy to master, hitting targets above 600m requires you to have zero margin for error, just 50m off in the sight setting you can completely miss the target.
Thats why I only ever use it in urban maps where I’m essentially at ramming range no matter
