As I decide to play alot of different nations; and there are some that have this issue where they see multiple BR jumps before getting another SPAA, but I think the worst one I have seen so far is being left with a 5.3 Skink and having to wait till 8.3 for the Falcon…then your actual spaa the Za-35 and Marksman. I understand why they upped the falcon but I feel like during this growing pains as I try to evenly progress each branch of GB, that 8.0 I face a ton of SPAA, alot of ZSU-23s, Gepards, and for China, the PGZ09 that is literally a 2007 SPAA with AHEAD rounds…
Why have we made SPAA like this where alot of nations get gimped and instead of fixing their stop gaps, its just “well you gotta use the skink until 8.3 then you can finally defend against jets”
This is how I feel using the M16 in the US TT… At least you’re SPAA is closed top and has armor somewhat… Plus it has cannons…
But yes, the SPAA gaps in this game is crazy… Really needs to be addressed… I’d like to see a whole update, doesn’t have to be a major one, but I’d like it to have only SPAA to fix all the goofy gaps 😂
Why? Who knows. I’ve given up trying to understand the rationale they apply when they are making decisions on game balancing.
I prefer to use the Bosvark or Yestervark. Bosvark has lousy vehicle handling, but it’s guns will throw up a ton of lead, the same with the Yestervark. Both suffer from being exposed, but at least you have a better chance at landing a hit than the slower firing 20mm Skink.
Bosvark and Skink are good for 6.7 lineups.
Gepards are 8.3.
PGZ09 doesn’t have AHEAD rounds in game and is 8.3.
ZSU-23s lack good radars and are 7.7.
Britain’s 7.7 lineup is better served with an Attacker to take on enemy aircraft, which an aircraft is what I’d take over ZSU-23 as well.
oh come on, yall get skinkies, bosvarks, and also actual 8.7 spaa options. America lacks anything even slightly competent as SPAA between 2.7 and 9.0 with exception of maybe M109, which isn’t even an SPAA.
The Bosvark needs a report on the turning circle, it’s not even plausible and makes it extremely cumbersome in the ever-increasing CQC’ifying of maps. Same with the event Pizza truck.
I do notice all the event Russian trucks have great turning circles!? lol.
Also the Skink is such a turd at 5.0. It’s over-BR’d. The polstens don’t have the velocity for later props, let alone, you can see early Jets with it in some lineups if uptiered slightly.
The real hidden gem IMO is the Ystervark. That 20mm is a laser and it’s tiny, easy to hide/relocate, faster than a puma and most other wheeled vehicles due to weight/suspension travel/power. It tops out easily but gets there very fast. It can also side pen most things that aren’t heavies, except the Pz.IV H can be a real bitch with the side panels and the T-34s you can struggle with later ones if not super close. It needs a report on the useless chair as it should be able to fold down, allowing better fire arc on ystervark.

and I know the Gepards are 8.3…it seems like you just skimmed over the post because I say "I am having growing pains because im at 8.0 and face a ton of Gepards, PGZ09s, ZSU-23s, and I am still researching the falcon.
I hate to tell you this but this doesn’t dissuade the reasoning to have a huge gap in SPAA and have 3 SPAA for GB to be 8.3 simply because Gaijin has a really dumb model of BR balancing because of KDR.
I mean like as a America main I played it wasn’t TOO terrible, like its still a gap but like the bright side is still that the m19/m42 are still good all-rounders and you see alot of them be used as TDs…the only thing I say is that they don’t meet any jets and are still apart of Prop planes which you won’t be firing at any aircraft going faster than like 400 mph most of the time. Like the problem with the skink for being used in higher BRs is that your only choice half the time is like looking at a BTR80 and seeing if you can chew them up before they notice you. like your APT is only 37mm pen base value. Telling me “Oh you get South African SPAA that are clunky, long reload times, with short belts.” doesn’t really dissuade that with the newest update we are once again getting another Russian SPAA and no one really has had a teased SPAA to be a stop gap between these big BR jumps.
