No i ask because when im at an expo and im told the tank is different due to being named Leopard 2E (for España) and having different specifications for the spanish army over the 2A6EX demo, I generally believe it.

The 2a6ex and 2e arent 1:1 the same 2a6ex still has gen 1 thermals. But it was the base for the 2e. Additionaly the 2a6ex just isnt widely known by those outside of the specific group.
So honestly the average spanish crewmembers just honestly might not know it

Less, the missing ones realy only are the tvm series, the german Strv122s
2a4 has a lot same as 2a6 and 2a7. 2a5 not. Since the 2a5 only was a small period and got quickly upgraded to 2a6

E is just its national designation, KMW just calls it “Leopard 2A6”.

The only differences are thermals, BMS, and communication devices, other than that, it is pretty much just a 2A6EX…

yeah Dotshini elaborated on it as well tbh, it does puzzle me why we have so many challanger 2s for example, or so many abrams yet missing they skirted around leopard 2s for so long.

Probably because it’s a descendant of a 2A6EX? So yes, they’re right in saying that’s it’s a Leopard 2E and not a 2A6EX, you’re wrong in saying that 2E isn’t a successor to the 2A6EX.
Correct. I was under the impression the 2E I was shown was more adapted from it due to the time difference of the writing of this and the expo last year.

The abrams with a 5 second reload and the second highest penetrating top tier round isnt a bonus apparently

both players are ready to fire in the average encounter, so if you shoot at the same time (or even first) and have a 4s reload you’re technically at a disadvantage against a russian tank because your shot has higher odds of bouncing. 4s, 3 or even 2 seconds is usually enough for someone to aim and shoot back, and their shot will definitely pen
and trash bird’s point about pen is moot since the pen advantage of the abrams isn’t enough to get past the UFP i.e. the weak spot size is the same
