Why dont rare/removed maps ever get to return or a rework?

I like Fire Arc, I drove my M1A1 off the cliff and into the lake once at 40 mph. 10/10 experience, woukd recommend

fire arc is very sad, its only notability to me is that its the map I first saw a maus on.

I like Seversk as long as I’m on the southern side as I just rush the B point and the assist with C.

Vietnam is ok but feels like they tried to do too many things at once and everything came out poorly

we need to teach Smin to code so he can be a dev, I know he plays the game as I’ve played a match with him, he may get maps fixed. maybe he can add the EAP too

We can just subconsciously teach him everything he needs to know about the WT spaghetti then give him some like sleeper agent activation phrase and watch him go

Oh also unrelated but I definitely didnt just spend 5 minutes trying to find the Caernarvon thinking it was Italian

Adding that one to the bucket list lmao

Wow, remember this map well, we didn’t even know it was deleted
It was a really good map. I say the game lacked something

It had a few issues.
The largest one was spawnpoint location, and the amount of mud on the map. One spawn was placed on a muddy hill, which made it very slow to get out. The other was overlooked by the castle wall, which made it easy to spawncamp.
The other issues, was traction. Many hills were too steep to normally drive up, which made traversing the map annoying.

I want it to return, but slightly reworked. It was a decent map.

Gaijin try not to make tanks horrible at climbing the slightest incline challenge (level impossible)

In all seriousness I feel the map could be easily reworked if they took the time for it. I sadly never got to experience it for myself as I treated tanks as the shadow realm back then but would love to see it ingame at some point

It’s funny, I see a lot of hate for Fire Arc, but I love that map. Huge and open, with small terrain features to use for cover, and a smallish central town that’s well enough disjointed from the rest of the map.

sounds like if the battlements overlooking spawns were inaccessible and the mud was normal terrian the map would be ok

It takes time to completely flatten maps and remove every item of interest & make them bland and boring.

It had balance issues. Russians had terrible win rates on the map because it generally catered to best gun depression wins. As a Brit main it was rare to lose it unless paired with Russians. Many locations tanks struggled to get around in due to mud and steep ditches and it was often difficult to relocate across the map due to blockages and sniping positions and before long it always ended with spawn camping to win almost every time. It needs a lot of work before coming back.

While we are at that topic, what happened to Volokolamsk? I have not been getting this map for a long time, it is very sad as i loved the slight hills, you could really benefit of the -15° gun depression of the Sturer Emil.

What i also realized is, maybe i love the older maps more than the new ones, is because of the feeling of nostalgia playing on these maps? Especially carpathia, karelia, and white rock forest.

Even if it come back, I don’t think it will be changed. Just like both Volokolamsk didn’t change anything. But White Rock was actually playable and good…

YEAAAAAAAAA BUDDDDYYYYY

Red desert is a good map its long range engagements great for top tier, White Rock fortress is a god awful map. Its just spawn camping nonstop as both side can get to a spawn camping spot unopposed within thirty seconds of spawning terrible choke holds and awful terrain balance make it a nightmare to drive around.

guess what its coming back

EDIT: I see you saw the news

They say they fixed it.

Since this post was initially made red desert has become one of my more favourable maps. Its slightly too easy for CAS to lurk around mountains but overall a decent top tier map.

yea, one of the forum mods tagged this post as a reply to someone questioning its return.
