So my question is why doesn’t the Yakolev 141 get R-73s?
It’s fairly known that it could carry them.
Aircraft General Discussion air #r73
This is that russian bias that you’ve heard so much about.
The relevant report has been submitted and acknowledged, but if you want them to truly add it to the game, it is best to send a similar issue to draw their attention Community Bug Reporting System
Yak 141 was technically never wired to carry any weapons, and was never equipped with anything but dummy missiles
we can give it its historical loadout if you’d like :)
Harrier gr1 couldn’t carry SRAAMs irl and it has them in game it could be the same for the yak141 with r73
You are aware that (assuming it could even carry them) its br would get bumped up right?
At the moment, the Yak141 sits in a very neat spot where it sees a good amount of downtiers, allowing it to fight phantoms and such.
Fixed for you :)
Thank you :)
By a chance do you know if it is possible that the in the future the Yak 141 will get r77s?
As with all missile loads its a balance choice made by the developers, so its always possible.
it did have them ingame (on a devserver, I think.), but they were removed because the US had no equivalent.
Soviets didn’t have equivalent to 9L, they had garbage R-60M, yet they never removed 9L when soviets had garbage R-60M
now that it faces f15Es how is that balance exactly? LMAO I feel like this aircraft is getting massively overlooked/ forgotten .
I think it should be dropped to 12.3 or maybe even 12.0, given its r73s, and call it a day. The R27ER and ET are amazing missiles, but can be evaded by any experienced pilot at 11.0 and up. And not to mention it only carries 4 missiles total. Its pretty darn low, especially compared to the 12.0 phantoms. Even the A10c at 11.7 gets 4 aim9ms…
And heck, 60 countermeasures is plenty tbh, but when you are fighting dozens of fox 3s, aim9ms, r73s, etc. you kind of get stuck with 30 chaff and 30 flare (ish) and can run out really quick if you arent deploying them perfectly.
