Haha indeed you did
Many brs? The US only has 1 heli that has Stingers below 11.3 br with a max of 4. the Z-9W is the same br of 10.3 with 4 TY90s.
Yeah i would like the Stinger (and mistral) to get buffed and recieve their proper G overload and lock range against helis. But at the same time I am not to keen on a bunch of manpads vehicles i like playing going up in BR farther than they should.
Because i can guarantee an Ozelot with 22g overload and fixed lock range+datalink on the 92K will end up at a Br it really doesn’t need to be at.
As it stands now i am fine with them the way they are as in their current implementation they fill a very good area in their respective tech trees.
It would also make the LAV a decent option
ngl when you put these 2 missiles next to each other it makes me think Gaijin was onto something
I could live with the low G capability of the stinger quote for balance like the Chaparrel losing its smokeless motor and the SLAMRAAM.
If they would just fix the damn seeker so that it could actually be useful
Mean while Type 91 -10Gs 💀
I would honestly prefer all the manpads get a big buff and uptiered to not face sub sonic jets with dumb ordinance (and especially no ccip) anymore, these make cas pointless around 8.3 to 9.7, radar guided spaag especially with airburst and ahead rounds are way more than enough to counter such cas (Yes i know people hate cas but im being objective here)
gaijin
that isnt the reasoning gajing gave, and there isnt ANYTHING suggesting the stinger maneuvers in two planes,
like how would “2 plane” maneuverability even work on a rolling missile
The biggest thing preventing 2-plane maneuvering is lack of dynamic drag.
It’s coincidentally the same issue surrounding R-77s.
it being an issue with r-77s is dubious. although i think dynamic drag would be a great addition to the game.
A lot of nations would need new 9.x spaa to fill in the gap. Strela is one of the spaa I just gave up on, its no fun being extremely limited in range. Cant shoot down helis, and the closer to 11.0 you get the more aircraft have access to 6-8km fnf agms that you wont be able to contest at all with manpads.
Not to mention if your team has a saclos sam often they will be killing things far sooner than you and you kinda can’t do anything all match.
The thing about the Strela is that it is better than saclos missiles when it comes to shooting down high flying targets within 6km, its contrast seeker means a target against a clear sky cant flare it at all, while even missiles with double fov and flare rejection irccm can be flared, also cant be dodged by simple barrel roll maneuvers like other manpads. Its great at killing cas newbies who get close enough because they are not paying attention, but as you said against skilled pilots with fnf missiles its not very useful compared to a 2s6 or Osa.
Ya I never had a problem with the missile, just getting a lock. Was just to miserable for me to try and spade and I gave up. Not having anything to play it as psuedo light tank like the lav, gepard, or 2s6 also sucks. Its also a mtlb so mobility sucks too. Hated that thing.
This explanation somehow miss the lift generated by missile body…
What exactly constitutes what missile is one plane or two plane?
