shouldnt be in our tree TBH no one wants it there its just a op premium

For a good while US didn’t actually have the P-51 with cannons.

It’s just a legacy thing no one cared about.

ive done some digging with nostalgistic and found ZERO evidence of a merlin 66 powered spitfire outside of RAF use, both the american and soviet LF mkIX should be corrected to standard mkIX with a merlin 61 engine

There’s an American P-51 that should have American skins yet has none.

P-51 was added in 1.49 while Mk IA being available since Beta.

Gaijin tends to add skins early to the wrong model and then never move them after the correct ones come. Another example would be all the US Navy skins on the F-4C, it doesn’t even get any correct Air Force skin with full markings.

Also IIRC a few skins on the Mk IA was from real life P-51B or C, despite them looking good on my Mk IA.

they should fix it

If I actually remember the good old days of Update 1.49 (aka 1.70.1945) Weapons of Victory back in 2015.

The U.S. P-51 (20mm), when it was first added, had a temporary British Bicolor-style skin similar to the Mustang Mk. Ia version:

Before they changed it into the skin it currently has, with the dark brown, yellow stripes and American flag on the tail, ahistorically based off an A-36 Apache named “Herschel IV”:

(fun fact is that the yellow ring around the USAAF roundels was added in response to British vs American friendly fire incidents during Operation Torch in 1942).

It was a funny thing to bring out for Sim battles back in the day.

aint it a british town?

should it? I mean the Weizmann’s spitfire dont get any camos same as british one, same for other LF spitfire premiums.

So should india get B29s just cause they where stationed there obviously ground based units need to be stationed some where ? and there not gonna fly to and from america for bombing runs

im calling attention to one how much effort they put into a premium aircraft while the techtree gets too look like complete garbage

so why doesnt the A36 have this skin A36 a completely different variant

its premium therefore gotta be OP

its not like the normal mkIX is bad tho, its one of the best in game. Im also for spitfires appearing in correct trees, this was just a BS excuse to get the best spitfire in the soviet and american trees because they totally need it

soviet tree needed nothing honestly there tree at prop tiers is stacked only at high rank props do they struggle

from what i heard the best prop for 5.7 is the LF mark 9 spitfire but all ranks below that its the russians that dominate
