Why does the M1A1 clickbait kinda actually suck

The 12.0 Abrams are the best 12.0s in the game, and even the 12.3 MBTs.
They aren’t that easy to play but they are very good in the right hands, and with proper crew qualification / crew level.

No one denies that, in fact they should be 12.3 at this point.

Its just some people think they deserve the same br where better Abrams sits (which is BS).

The OP is suggesting the M1A1 Clickbait sucks, which it doesn’t.

The difference in capabilities between the 12.0 Abrams and the 12.7 Abrams isn’t that big.
The only benefit with the SEP is that it gets access to better thermals and (relatively useless) side ERA.
The SEP V2 now gets LWS and a bunch more smoke, so I could see that being a 0.3 BR difference.

If we took every OP’s word seriously then this game would’e become much more messy than it is right now.

Thermals alone is enough to create Br difference.

ERA is also quite useful against shaped charge munitions and autocannons if you ready to sacrifice little bit mobility, but its personal choice so I’m not gonna debate on that.

I guess that’s fair, though ‘no one’ denying it would be hyperbole.

The better thermals is quite nice but isn’t really necessary in majority of cases. The exceptions being when it’s night battles (though you can turn that off), when you’re in ESS smoke (though that’s very situational), or you’re looking for targets from a long distance (that I agree can be useful, though there aren’t many long-range maps anymore).
A 0.3 BR difference may be reasonable but I’d argue it isn’t.
A 0.3 BR lower Abrams for worse thermals is a huge steal if that’s the case.

I guess but I wouldn’t rely on it. I don’t think the difference in effective armour doesn’t warrant the worse mobility. It’s also why I took off the dozer blade on the HC after it started to put on weight.

So fair enough.

He will realize one day how powerful it is when he knows how to play because apparently he bought the abrams immidealy after account creation.

I was referring to sane players rather than OP but I get your point.

This and maps where terrain contains a lot bushes and trees, in those situations better thermals makes huge difference.

Tbh I was also not using ERA on my Abrams until BMPT’s came out, since they are so use to gun you down from side relatively easy on close range using ERA annoys them a lot.

Cheers.

I guess though from my experience it isn’t as big of a problem since gen 1 thermals is good enough to determine whether or not a tank exists in said bushes or not, though maybe not as easily or clear enough to know what the tank is.

I mean I can understand that though the turret ring is only ~68mm (and it’s exposed in any direction), so they can kill you regardless of whether or not you have that extra ERA side armour. Same for their ATGMs.

That is the biggest flaw of any 120MM Abrams model.

Funny thing is 105 models have better turret ring protection compare to them.

If Gaijin fix the turret issue Abrams will become much more survivable than before.

That’s the biggest gripe I have with the Abrams.
The turret ring is extremely weak to the point where it can’t survive autocannons, and the spall from MBT rounds is immense due to how they calculate spall.
If it were around ~200mm thick then it would be a lot better.
The Abrams doesn’t need better LFP armour or a better round. It just needs its turret ring to get fixed.

I understand there are other busted tanks in game and there are forums for that if you have your grumps and complaints but I am wondering what this guy is looking for at this point from the forum? Is he using HEAT? We already know he’s really new to the game but I don’t see how this is solving anything. Did he try getting his money back?

No, not with five crew who block spall. LFP was bouncing rounds when it first dropped too with TES top round. Might have had a small tune? The ERA was stopping MBT rounds from the sides instead of IFV rounds which is hilarious. Left it for a few days or weeks? time flys.

Will be interesting to see what Happens with the SEPv3 because it has different turret geometry and APS, but I’m wondering why it isn’t already here yet.

  1. *Leopards
  2. skill issue
  3. use APFSDS
  4. aim for LFP (Lower Front Plate) or turret ring
  5. select keybind for LRF (Laser Range Finder)
  6. select keybind for thermals
  7. watch some videos about how to play the Click-Bait, i have watched plenty of videos about the Leopard 2A4M before buying it.
  8. get some friends and ask them about how to play the tank, and why not, ask them of playing with u with the same tank so u can see their playstyles.
  9. enjoy ur tank, cuz u can’t refund it.
  10. spend very wisely ur GE.

I mean, Abrams are pretty good, and i believe the name comes from it’s design and the IRCM.
Tho the RDF/LT is way better at everything, i usually prefer MBTs, i’m more confident with them.

literally everytime i shot a bmpt in the lfp/drivers port i got a kill or disabled him to the point where he couldnt fight back, youre just doing something wrong.

RDF/LT’s problem is damage output.

Its shell is so consistent when it comes to bein inconsistent that it makes you question whether you’re firing APFSDS or meatballs sometimes.

The clickbait does not suck (2 kills with the AIM)

I personally finds the AIM being the best 12.0 that can easily perform at 12.3. It has endgame Abrams’s FCS with 13x gunner magnification and gen 3 thermals, definitely improves the reaction time and shot accuracy.

AIM gets GEN 2 thermals, but it’s still pretty nice.
Though gets less smoke grenades and a worse round (629mm vs 589mm).
I think the HC / Clickbait is better because the smoke grenades and round arguably serve as better utilities.
If the HC / Clickbait didn’t have any thermals at all then that would be more interesting.
