Why does the german eurofighter have AIM-9L/Is instead of AIM-9Ms?

The german eurofighter typhoon has AIM-9L/I missiles, but historically it also used AIM-9M before switching to IRIS-T. The UK and Italian typhoons already have AIM-9Ms in-game, so why doesn’t the german one?

If im not mistaken, it has the AIM9L/I-1 which is pretty much a copy paste of the 9M

Pretty much the same thing, minus the smokeless motor.

the Germans have never recived AiM-9M

this is why AiM-9L/i exists, they just made their own AiM-9Ms

Aim 9L/I is an Aim9L with a 9M seeker head.

it’s an AiM-9L with a Diehl defence engineered and made IRCCM seeker

No it’s the exact same thing, infact the 9L/i-1 even has the smokeless motor making it identical to the 9m

I mean sure, “technically” you are correct.

For all intents and purposes in game though, it’s easier to explain it as a 9m seeker head, as it works exactly the same in game in that regard.
