Why does spalling not ricochet off the inside of a tank?

“Strawberry is the tastiest ice cream”
“No, vanilla is the tastiest ice cream. Clearly that other person must have been paid off by Big Strawberry, because otherwise they’d OF COURSE have concluded that vanilla is the tastiest, since it is!”

Here’s some reading homework for you:

This is an asinine straw man.

Oh great, I must have misunderstood. Please share your exact equations, then, where I can plug in speed and armor and come to a single, objective answer.

Do you think a vehicle just goes faster because I think it does?

?? What? Nobody ever disagreed that speed is a known fixed number. I asked you for your equations that I plug speed INTO, to get an objective effectiveness in battle number out.

Wha???

“Please share your exact equations, then, where I can plug in speed and armor and come to a single, objective answer.”

I don’t code the game, Gaijin does.

Once it’s coded and placed in the game it will perform as it is coded to do.

Vehicles are coded based on real world values, that is the work of the developer to implement them as closely as possible to the reality.

I don’t code the game, Gaijin does.

Speed is not the single factor of a vehicle’s performance.

Mobility, survivability, firepower, utility.

You said you looked at the VIDAR, and you concluded that it must be higher than 7.7, and that that conclusion was objective.

YOU did all that. So what equations did you use, when you did so? Your conclusion was “objective” after all, so that means you used zero opinions or emotions or hand waving. Which means you used equations.

So share them.

I am regularly amazed at how you are able to ignore what a person said and then proceed to write something that indicates you know exactly what the other person asked for

What vehicle at 6.7 has has LRF / Thermals / Mobility / Firepower?

What vehicle at 7.0 has LRF / Thermals / Mobility / Firepower?

What vehicle at 7.3 has LRF / Thermals / Mobility / Firepower?

What vehicle at 7.7 has LRF / Thermals / Mobility / Firepower?

What vehicle at 8.0 has LRF / Thermals / Mobility / Firepower?

What vehicle at 8.3 has LRF / Thermals / Mobility / Firepower?

What vehicle at 8.7 has LRF / Thermals / Mobility / Firepower?

The earliest tank with Gen 2 Thermals is the 20mm Wiesel at 7.3

The earliest tank with equivalent firepower / utility / mobility is 8.7

The Vidar’s firepower requires skill but can destroy a tank in a single shot. The Vidar’s mobility is comparable to a 9.0 vehicle, the Vidar’s survivability is equivalent to a light tank, where do I place this vehicle?

This vehicle doesn’t have a two plane stabilizer. The vehicles at 8.7 with comparable firepower / mobility / utility don’t have a two plane stabilizer.

Is the Vidar better than the AMX-30?

How close is it to the AMX–30?

Right, so your equation will have a variable for speed, variables for armor plates, a variable for gun pen, reload, etc. etc. etc.

And then I can plug all those numbers in and get my single, OBJECTIVE answer out. Can’t wait!

I don’t know why you’re dragging your feet and wasting all our time, here. It’s not like I asked you to INVENT an equation. You already must have one sitting in front of you right now, since you already claim to have arrived at an objective answer.

All you have to do is literally copy/paste the one you already have. Should take 2 seconds. Chop chop!

“Should a developer of a video game have to put effort in to making additions to their game?”

Damn thats good misquoting

That is the question.

If you believe a developer is justified in ignoring their game and running it on auto pilot then you and I fundamentally disagree.

Idk who in this thread ever even hinted that was their position.

Edit:
Well i guess since you argued they should “give it their best/try very hard/put in lots of effort”. I guess you argued for the opposite of that and somehow that means everyone who dislikes your idea is a contrarian on that tennant of your idea.

Is this how you build a straw man? (Queue Elsa Disney song)

That is the system you’re advocating for. Gaijin should look at vehicle win rate and ignore all else.

Well that depends,

What is “mobility” I don’t see that on the stat card. Can you point me to where I see the “mobility” number for each tank, please?

Also where is the “firepower”? I don’t see that on the stat card either, please advise.

If these are aggregated numbers based on other numbers, then I require the instructions/equations for how to use other numbers to arrive at “mobility” and “firepower” scores, before I can answer any of your above questions, or confirm that you answered them accurately.

The Vidar’s firepower requires skill

Oh okay, great, where does it tell me “requires skill” 1 or 0 on a tank’s stat card?

can destroy a tank in a single shot.

Can you show me where it says that on the stat card so I can calculate the end result already?

where do I place this vehicle?

I’ll be sure to let you know once you’ve clarified all of the 18 different vague, undefined things above that I need to answer your questions to find out!

You wish the game to be run on auto pilot.

I do not believe this is healthy for the game.
