You are underestimating AGM-65 tho , %80 of the time it’s 1 shot kill unless the target is a leopard 2 , because they are so huge and spacious inside.
or russian tanks with roof ERA, because for some reason 830mm of pen is not enough and no im not underestimating them, youre underestimating how powerful a 186.24kg big HE warhead is.
I didn’t have that happen to me , for me it’s always leopards that don’t die with 1 when I use mavericks.
If gaijin adds the thermal seeker version of KH-29 I will agree that it will be good , but TV seekers just aren’t reliable at all
well I have different experiences with them, or why do you thing the community is asking for the HE variant of the Mavericks? To have something similar to what the russians have.
at day it doesnt matter what you have if TV or IR, they both work similar, just that you can lock stuff with IR at night and with TV you cant. and no they dont have different accuracies.
The problem is that IR doesn’t lose lock if the target passes next to a half inch thick bush like TV does. Not hiding behind it , just passing it for 0.5 seconds. Also after they added fog TV missiles are worse than ever , while IR is still usable. Even when it’s day or there is little fog , TV thinks it cannot see the target
HEAT even has the big problem, but thats a general problem FnF ATGMs have, that they only target the middle of the vehicle and sometimes that results in not killing enough crew or not hitting important stuff like ammo, HE doesnt have that problem, and no Mavericks, even with their 50ish kg warhead doesnt have overpressure.
ok the thing with fog i will agree on but IR missiles have the same problem with losing lock, just ask anybody, including me, who has played the Tiger UHT, they lose lock ALL THE TIME.
That is probably because you are firing from low altitude since it is a helicopter , with planes you can fire downwards which makes the seeker see better , avoiding buildings
ok sure that might be a factor, and I really dont understand why gaijin hasnt given the russians the IR variants of the Kh-29 already, ive seen a lot people asking for them but until they do theres nothing we can do about.

one example i have and other people already shared is for example the Pantsir, with the Mavericks you have the unfortunate luck that it will target the middle of the vehicle, where literally is nothing only air, which will result in letting the Pantsir live, with a Kh-29 you wouldnt have that problem because they would blow them into the sky with their HE warhead.

I unterstand the advantage of the IR seeker and like i said i dont really understand why there is no variant of the Kh-29 with that already but saying that theyre the worst AGM in the game is just wrong and dishonest, Mavericks are nice but theyre far from being the best and they have a ton of issues aswell, were talking about the penetration being to low, yes 830mm is to low it should be around 1300mm, and still not having the HE variant, … .
gaijin added inaccuracy to all AUTO missiles , they do not target the exact center now , so that they do not hit canon breech and stuff. That might help. This is very recent

For some reason Mav D damage are too low than it supposed to it won’t over pressure despite it had like 50kg of TNT equivalent sound not much but it direct hit the tanks it should be enough to kill a tanks and HEAT warhead on mav is laughable (maybe all HEAT in this game)

Reliability isn’t modeled in WT so series 2 & 3 don’t really matter when they have the same thrust.
