Why does it take so much time?

I have already purchased a premium account and two gold tanks for the USA, but it will still take me over 150 hours to get a top-tier tank. If I play two hours games every day, it will take me more than 2 months to get a top-tier tank. Even if I spend over 8 hours every day, it will still take 20 days.
My goodness, 8 hours a day for 20 days—I feel like I’m paying to work for Gaijin.
Add helicopters and air force would double the required time.
Is this the effect Gaijin is aiming for? To make you work for them, or spend half a year to get the tanks or combat lineup you want?

Gaijin or to give them their real name… SKYNET is using AI to analyze our behaviour , our pain thresholds and our endurance so they can build best Terminator.

I’m going to start out by saying I laughed a little at this, but I’m going to try my best and answer your questions.

Yes, the grind is crazy, but you’re already a leg up on a lot of other people. Namely because you have premium vehicles and premium time. It will take time, and they want that to happen, but that’s because it’s a progression game… You’re supposed to go through the whole thing and learn and get better. And they hope they you’ll get angry and upset enough that you will buy your way to top tier…

Also, I wouldn’t put a set amount of time you’ll make it to top tier… You’re going to have off days not to mention start facing more skilled people as you move up…

This is your average F2P game. Of course, it is full of incentives to make you speed up the progress by spending money. At the same time, WarThunder is over 10 years old now, so all the content they added over the years to keep veterans and whales interested, will obviously get in the way of a new player who is mostly interested in modern warfare and does not want to buy top tier vehicles directly.

I didnt use either, I just used bombers at lower tiers while I was in online classes, id start a game, turn towards a base, listen to the teacher, drop bombs, and repeat. Was it the most efficient, no. but it worked

First, top tier is not the goal. The game is meant to be enjoyed not grinded. Every BR has fun and interesting tanks to play, if you focus only on skipping them and reaching top tier you will be disappointed. Top tier is by far the least enjoyable BR range mostly because of players like you.

Secondly, this 150hours helps you learn the game. Maps, tanks, tactics etc. Stuff you will need to be valueable for your team.

I have already played in 5 different nations, and I think 150 hours is too little. Mastering the skills requires much more time—I believe 15,000 hours is reasonable. This way, each of us can become a master of the game.
So, do you know where to vote to make Gaijin implement this change? I really hope that after everyone spends over 10,000 hours, they can play with me and my tanks from the other 5 nations.

Let me put it this way

You will have 150 hours of experience once you reach top tier and start matchmaking with people that have 10x times more hours of experience at the very least (not including top tier premium spammers) and have complete lineups with planes and helicopters and much better map knowledge.

Dont rush top tier, enjoy the road for what it is.

Maybe spending a lifetime to get a top-tier tank for one nation can make our gaming environment better.

The other way to look at it is, that if the grind was to easy, then players would grow bored to quickly as there would be nothing to strive for.

You could purchase the premiums at 11.3, but there is also a squadron vehicle that can be obtained at 11.3. Any of those would allow you to jump into the top tier matches if uptiered.

I didn’t use premium and 90% of my bomber line isn’t even researched, I made some poor mistakes while grinding.

I would recommend finding out whether it is worth to reach TopTier at all. Personally, I have given up my endeavours to get there due to the predominantly bad opinions regarding TopTier and due to own bad experiences at BR > 9.0. And since then, it’s been very relaxed to play at BR 3.0 to BR 8.0. And the grind is also relaxed.

That’s a tragically short lifetime.

But in all seriousness, while I certainly wouldn’t say playing eight hours a day is healthy, are you seriously expecting to start playing a decade-long-running game with literally multiple thousands of vehicles, and reach the “top” level in… three weeks?

Most people probably don’t even max rank the yearly CoD game in three weeks…

So you play the game.
Simple.
The goal is the carrot(Top Tir) on the stick. Once you reach the top there is nothing more. You get bored, you leave forever, maybe come back every few months or not.

So keep playing. You dont even have to be good. You can just stumble your way up to the top. So dont waorry and enjoy the ride.

If your just relying on your premiums your going to struggle. With a lack of information I’ll assume you have jumped to higher br without the skill to be efficient there. Not a slight mate just likely part of the issue.

The problem playing just some premiums is you don’t get all the bonus rp from acing your tanks as you unlock them. If you play the tanks you unlock and research all the modules you get bonus rp for each tier of modules unlocked. The bonus rp for a. Aced vehicle is equal to 1/5 of the research cost of the vehicle. This means every 5 vehicles you research completely you unlock another vehicle for free just in bonus rp. This is haw you grind trees quickly.

Additionally you want to be sure your keeping your activity high and staying in the fight as long as possible as this earns you additional rp. Base caps, repairing team mates, scouting, assists, crits etc can be worth more then kills so keep that in mind. Additionally using a plane for cas will not help grind tanks so if your doing this remember your time in a plane isn’t helping your tank grind.

I would also don’t fall into the trap of thinking playing just 1 or 2 vehicles and bailing out is more efficient. It just isn’t for many reasons. If you really want to have Max efficiency play all your vehicles in your lineup. I recommend aiming for at least o e of every vehicle type in your lineups so get the extra crew slots for SL.

The point of the game is to play the game. What will you do once you reached the top? Log out and move on? Cry for more phatasy units that never existed? The goal is to play and slowly progress. Keep in mind there is still no endgame. In MMORPGS yxou got raids or somthing simelar. In WT its SSDD. Always the same, same maps, same complains, same modus operandi. Enjoy the ride. Not the desteny.

Are we talking about a PVP game or a single player game that you won’t touch after finshing it? You shouldn’t expect player enjoying the struggling before access to full game play experience. People certainly will continue to play to enjoy the PVP experience after reaching the top tier.

Some will quit after reaching the top tier, but they might still quit in current enviroment cause they can never reaching the top tier.

If you want to ask how people will enjory PVP experience, that will be developers’ job, not mine.

I am a player want to play the game, not struggle.
