I think it’s unfair that the G-Lynx Premium is almost 100 km/h faster than the standard model on the same track. I think it’s fair to put the standard model at 10.0 or 10.3 speeds, or buff it to have the same specifications as the Premium!! For sources, check the WT Wiki if you have any doubts about my statements.
It’s not like you need to be 100 kp/h faster to hover near cover and flick hellfires
that said
there needs to be another Lynx in the regular tech tree anyway
not sure the version in the tree ran all of it’s current equipment, and a lower BR Lynx with 8 TOWs would benefit lineups
What should happen, imo, is remove hellfires from the Lynx AH.1 and move it down accordingly then add a later AH.7 or AH.9 variant in the tech tree with hellfires, upgraded defensive suite and sights. This gives Britian a 9.7/10.0 heli which would be greatly appreciated as well as making each lynx variant more unique in the process.
I’d second that plan.
Though the amount of missing helis from our tree is kinda insane
We def need a naval helicopter line. A naval Lynx with Sea Skua (for if Gaijin ever add helis to Sim Battles) and hopefully Wildcat would be great.
Yep, agreed there.
Especially if we see Subs, ASW and Ship-launched Helis any time soon
I support this idea because I don’t even use Hellfire, and it should be 9.7 because it’s a Lahatut with 8 TOW2B missiles.
Yes, this matters to me, because he’s in the same Brazilian league, so he should have the same stats! I’m not like the others, I use rockets, I rush in first person with hotas!
Ironically, Hellfire is one of the capabilities the AH.1 actually demonstrated - some Hellfire launches were done with XZ179 in the early 1980s.
But none the less the AH.1 is a bit of a weird mix of AH.1 and AH.7 features. Lynx didn’t have an RWR until the Gulf War AH.1(GT) but that modification also had the AH.5/AH.7’s improved engines, HIRSS exhaust covers, and reversed tail rotor. It was pretty much an AH.7, just without the structural improvements, thermal imager and composite rotors. Lynx also didn’t have flare/chaff dispensers until the AH.7(DAS) in the mid-2005s.
There’s plenty of stuff that could be removed from it to bring it down to a lower BR and then add a better AH.7 at 9.7/10.0
