Despite the common moniker “flying tank”, I’m pretty sure no helicopter can carry enough armour to block a BR-412 or 3BM25.

The issue is 2 fold
-
Helis dont have their own independent PvP gamemode which means they are always forced into GRB where they are “balanced” against the SPAA they’ll face. Though they are fairly universally weaker than the SPAA they face

Top tier GRB is compressed as all hell and the max BR should be increased to 14.0. A lot of CAS has been rendered unusable due to the massive difference in performance of everything found at essentially the same BR.

at best they’ll protect the pilots against rifle calibre ammunition from medium ranges

Plenty of ATGM helicopters can act with impunity against most (or all) AAs in their BR.

Premiums aren’t better than tech tree variants at the same BR. They are premium because the boost progression, that is what you pay for; a faster grind, not a better or more fun vehicle.

Has been in the game for 2 months, not really enough data to go on with that little time. But even then it’s not different to the tech tree variants in any significant way.
Though the USA one is for some reason much worse than the others.
This is however a bit off topic.
Outside of the 8.7-9.7 bracket, where ATGM helis are usually better than SAM, this is still largely true.
