Why do Youtuber/Contentcreator all of a sudden care?

Good day everyone,

first of all, I don’t wanna hate on anyone here and yes I’m a little late to the party but since everyone is giving a statement to the current state of the game and I was someone who complained about this a long time ago, I though I also give my two cents to the situation and also call out some of Youtube creator, who now all of a sudden complain about the current state of the game after happily showcasing every new premium while promoting their own decals. I don’t buy vehicle based on videos but I know that many people do buy vehicle based on what their favourite creator said.

I do agree with most of what is said in those videos, what really bothers me is the pretend to care morality of a lot of these content creator. My thought, if you would’ve truly cared, you would’ve been more vocal about this way before because this is War Thunder for the past 4-5 years now. In fact, a couple called this out way earlier already like Spookston. I mean what is the point of a video directed to the community, if you have direct contact with the people in charge? We have to talk to forum mods who can only suggest certain ideas.

Just open up your DM’s show them the list of complains we have all gather over the years and tell them we need some work on that but na lets make a video and complain to the community who has been vocal the whole time… Calling it out but still supporting it is a weird way of trying to help the game imo. Never seen a bigger content creator suggest a bugfix but you can proof me wrong here (Probably Spookston).

I really want to know, why now? What changed? The amount of Premiums? The blatant bias that is going on for years? What tipped the scale for everyone to jump on this? A single video from a content creator who has been vocal in the past but who is still showcasing all these OP and bias vehicle even after he complained about them? I’d be lowkey pissed to if my income goes down because the game is slowly turning into something most people don’t enjoy any more.

There is bugs and missing feature for vehicle which are in the game for 4-5 years now. What the game needs is a year of only bug fixing and new gameplay additions and no more vehicle… There is bugs we been dealing with which became part of the game basically… I could name a couple but why would I just open the bug report area and look through the 4 year old accepted bugs which never got fixed or the additional content some of the vehicle should have which never got added or added way to late.

And here we are again after a couple of days, nothing changes. We are alrdy back to normal and this drama got brushed over. Youtube is full of videos about the new absolutely op J-22M1A on a Tier it shouldn’t be at. Video is called for example: “The New Most Broken CAS PLANE”. If that’s not perfect advertisement for people who like to p2w or pay for an advantage, idk any more. The very problem why War Thunder is actually suffering is the community yes but the biggest tool with the most reach aka Youtuber who could directly influence the game for the community, rather point at us and call us out for buying premiums. The irony in that is crazy.

I’d like to see a better War Thunder but the direction it went, is at a point of no return. To much invested into stuff they never really thought about. I hope I’m wrong here but I mean I haven’t seen a good change in a while. I think the best changes are some of the UI changes for making your loadouts…

My hope, Gaijin would understand how much money they could make with a less terrible monetised game and a way better polished version of what we currently have. Go back, fix the neglect and the vehicle which are old and just slowly add finished and test new content. The game doesn’t have to be crazy accurate and realistic, it has to be fun as well and that part is nearly gone in some areas of the game.

They don’t care. They’re just farming your misplaced outrage for easy views and clicks. Happens every time there’s a controversy in WT.

As I’ve mentioned in other threads. War Thunder community in general need jiggling keys aka flashy edits to maintain attention to a specific topic. This whole community outrage was that specific topic, every now and then you see new threads with the same text soup: “I saw this video from [x] creator, I think there’s a problem”; in my opinion I think it’s a fancy way to say that your opinion was formulated from a influencer and not by individual critical thinking.

War Thunder had this problem for years long, this is not the first time, it’s just for money grabbing. As most others have said. This behaviour is a recorrent thing that follows this cycle:

Content creators will just speak the obvious and at the end of the day the person watching will eat and accept whatever is leaving their speakers. It’s a situation where nothing ever happens, nothing meaningful changes. Do I think the Duplicate Vehicles: Why We Add Them there will be any meaningful change for that situation? No, it’s the Gaijin buzzword text wall part of the cycle, and naturally everyone (and by everyone I mean majority) has calmed down and we are soon to have another Community outrage phase and repeat the cycle.

The only thing I can agree with “Content” creator in this subject is that the community itself is part of the problem, and Gaijin is taking advantage of that ignorance.

mr snail need to improve many things and mostly the bug report quality it’s the worst thing in mr snail game i have bug reports from 3 years and many players to not seen / ignored and bug report manger don’t look at players comments in the bug report fixes you have to tag mr simon1080p to get your bug report seen :/

personally i think mr snail need a bigger bug report team / and fix old bugs reported by players this like my 900 post about this issue and other players to but nothing changes 😿

I kinda mentioned that but I didn’t really want to go to deep into that because I can’t proof that based on facts but yea that was my guess. It does come across as a last straw attempt to not lose most of that easy income.

Nothing last straw about it. Periodically a vocal minority of the playerbase lose their minds (usually imho over incredibly dumb “controversies”). The CCs follow the incentive of their profession and ride the negativity wave until it peters out. Then they go back to doing other things.

This is why I made the post. They act like they opening a new can of worms that was open for multiple years by people who truly care about the state of the game because they love it. I love the game but I hate the direction its moving for the past years and I think we all can agree on that. I don’t even know if thats greed, I think they did it cause it worked. I mean if I had a company and people by more and more of the easy to make content I turn blind to the important stuff as well.
