2 **** modes competing huh…
I dislike the teammates of both modes anyway, more so in ARB because how do you die to a crit XF5U (I unloaded him with 13mm’s while I was a bf109) in an A6M zero, like how bro? Man thinking about it pisses me off already.
Cheaters are one of the lesser issues in this game
Well at least in GRB you can use bombers, and without markers it makes the air portion much more challenging.
ARB, I detest the markers and a certain elitist mentality if you decide to ground strike, vice going pure fighter mode.
Nuclear escalation solved the issue for me, with a nice combo of strike vs fighter sweep, but markers still persist. I could fly Sim but that has a lot more challenges with aircraft handling and setup, which I’m not sure I am willing to invest in.
True. I’ll see GRB CAS that’ll ignore teammates in trouble, or caps being taking as they seek revenge against the one who destroyed them. Or those who are damage and could fly back to base to repair, yet stay over the battlefield. I’ve encountered the odd player whose SA and ability to fly and fight, where I know they honed it in the ARB arena, who are very effective at countering enemy CAS (at low and mid tiers, don’t play high tier).
In Ground RB there are no markers for enemy aircraft, which is a big plus for me.
I prefer Ground AB, because I do not like the “respawn point system” employed by GRB,
it’s just terrible, has never worked properly, is arbitrary and easily manipulated.
Granted, the way they do planes in GAB is terrible, horrible random STOCK planes,
the worst spawning system in the game by a MILE, and the planes BRs and “pool”
are all over the place. Wack-A-Doodle . . .
They should do ALL tank modes like naval as far as spawning and planes go:
3 dedicated spawns for mode vehicle type, only 3(you’ll be ok GRB players, don’t panic!)
and ALL actions work “fairly” towards the spawn points needed to bring your OWN planes
into battle when circumstances are right. Between main type vehicle spawns.
(no more parking and praying no one yeets your tank while you’re flying in AB)
More “continuity” between the modes, let the game’s mechanics be the primary difference,
not crazy parameters scattered here and there. (the respawn point system in GRB has
slowly eroded what was about the best tank experience this game had from early on as
now, no one plays the “objectives” much anymore, it’s all about spawn points/getting into
a plane, to do all kinds of “CAS” stuff[it’s as much the intense grind as anything, but the
idea it is “meta” and "only REAL men play RB!] … this stuff is not helpful)
Like i said, more “continuity” . . example: in GRB, a player can run out in a speedy boi,
grab a capture point and then spawn into a plane(yeah fighter, but many can carry
bombs early on) and be attacking tanks before many of the slower tanks even get to the action.
Same player can run out and cap THREE points in GAB and not even have enough points
to spawn ANYTHING in the air, and has to wait to use a fighter until someone else starts
a sortie(all of which are timed in GAB)
These VAST differences almost make them totally different games, not just different
modes of the same game . . . the tanks look alike, but that’s about it really.
“Fair and balanced” . . . complained about a lot, much of it is . . understandable
Anyway, when tanks were new, I used to play all 3 modes, and I liked GRB & Sim
tanks very much . . . before the respawn point thing and the “list” came in . .
then I just resided myself to GAB and have watched them slowly neuter planes
there to the point they are almost useless now(GAB will be the Tank Only Mode IF
they ever make that happen I bet). . .
I do not and prolly never will play Air RB again, I simply to not enjoy the long, tedious
and utterly boring “climb, side climb” and endless time it takes to get to SEE
something to shoot at. That and the flight mechanics(flaps do not fly off if you try
to deploy them going too fast, they simply will not deploy) and the drastic difference
in flight models of the SAME plane between AB & RB . . no “continuity” . . . again.
Sorry for the TL;DR post . . . lol, drinking my morning coffee and waking up . .
But to answer your post’s title/question . . . I don’t(reasons stated above)
Don’t get me wrong, I love the game, but like almost every other player in the game,
there are things I do not enjoy and things I would like to see changed.
Not to suit ME, but to make it a better game for everyone.

Yeah, it does not say anyhwere that this thread/poll is specifically for high tier,
missile slinging, radar assisted game play.
The majority of the game does not even fit into that category, and not everyone plays
that stuff.
Specifics . . . also, assuming everyone plays the same thing you play
seems a little “short sighted” maybe . . just saying, no hate
I despise people like you

Probably because of the simplicity that makes ground battles more popular in comparison to air battles, this can be said to naval battles, which is not just point and click—you need to know the modules just like when firing in a tank. Again with simplicity; the learning curve in ground vehicles are by far the smoothest in-game, followed by vessels and then airplanes. In my opinion learning to lead a specific gun in a specific airplane is the hardest thing to learn and by far the most important.
air RB is easier takes less time and focus too 1 kill will give me a blue rating for air RB in stat shark but 1 kill in ground and a win gives me orange maybe its just stat shark being rigged?
Ground RB is way easier to get into than Air RB. While the Air grind is way easier, learning every jets weaponry and strength, and how to position them is key to gameplay in Air RB. Ground you kinda just push up to a good defensive spot and camp, you gotta know where to shoot and what rounds to use, but that’s about it.
I play a lot of different aircraft and have developed a playstyle that I can use without knowing exact gun velocity. It’s not as effective as knowing it, but it allows me to still be useful in a plane I’m not familiar with.
Honesty for me air combat comes much more naturally. I have to put real effort in to memorizing a map and where people go at each BR for ground RB, but air combat just kinda clicks. I was doing yo-yos before I even knew it had a name
The tried and true argument of every CAS defender. Just spawn SPAA. SPAA as first spawn is just not effective (except for those 35mm demons).
Yes sure lemme check sky with thermals in my “checks notes” early cold war tank. I rarely play BRs above 9.0 and mainly stick to 5.0 to 8.7 approximately so mid tiers.
It’s not fully but in most scenarios it might as well be 99% out of my control.
Personally I dislike how the current random game modes are set up period. Doesn’t matter the mode at all, they’re all the same TDM with alternate win conditions if you got someone hiding excluding the Enduring Confrontation modes.
It’s why I’m working on making a full Combined Arms EC, to make it so that ground vehicles, aircraft/helicopters, and naval vessels can all be used at once to complete Operational Objectives on maps with plenty of maneuver space, instead of pushing to spawns and killing players until they run out of respawns. Hell, check out my suggestion thread on it.
Its way more fun to kill people with CAS than bots. I do not even enjoy air battles in top tier, its a fox 3 festival, the only reason I do its to unlock CAS for ground.
Tho I must say the only cannons air event and nuclear escalation was of my liking.
And i enjoy not dying to something I can’t counter, I’m sorry but i genuinely don’t care that CAS in ARB is boring go do it there… you have no place in GRB. You’re just ruining the game
As a ground only player I don’t mind seeing aircraft. I just wish there was more SPAA options. I also wish Gaijin incentivized more air players to take fighters to counter CAS.
