Why do russians get apfsds at 8.3?

Talking about yourself? Since all you did was confirm what I said.

284mm? Where?

60 degrees 100 meters.
Thickness / cos angle.

Where is this value reported?

Sounds like someone is dying to T-55s 😂

@ExcaliburSniper
Please only make on-topic non-combative posts please.
If you have proof that stat-cards are lying please provide the evidence, otherwise don’t accuse the statcards of being me either.

What problems do you have? Why do you even deny the evidence of the facts? Do you think others are idiots?

its not a reported value. its calculated.
at 60 degrees and a thickness of 142mm the effective thickness becomes 142 divided by cosine 60* which is 284mm.

BUT that is a very unintuitive way of talking about it @AlvisWisla effectively NO ONE talks about effective values or LOS when talking penetration values on the forum, you cant use those values without specifying.

An example is the AIM-9E states it pulls 10g on the stat card but it pulls a little more in the files, not everything on the stat card is 100%.

How does the M300 on Gods green earth penetrate more armour than the 3BM25 at 60*. Discussion should be changed to “why do the Italians get APFSDS at 8.0?”

This value does not exist even with the protection analysis, I rely on the statistics reported in the game, if you please tell me where this data is reported, we can talk about it.

You ignore that the AUBL 74 HVG can also be killed by 7.62mm.

It’s called sarcasm, I have and played the AUBL, its a decent and well balanced vehicle.

What do you mean that it does not exist in the protection analysis?

You responded to the wrong person.
You provided evidence that proves the statement in my posts correct.
142x2 is 284. Simple math, only works on 60 degrees but it’s simple.

But yeah, T-55A is middle of the road for its BR.

What about the Olifant Mk.1 with DM23 at 8.3?

Only in the mathematical formula, In reality in the game at 60° it struggles to pierce 259mm.

China has it at 7.7 with the ZTS.
At 8.0 it also has with the M41D and Type 69.

Yes.

8.3 with the AMX-10RC.

8.0 with the Magach 5.

Not at all, the Chieftain’s APDS is better.

Which is still 8.0…

It is one of the worst APFSDS rounds in the game. The pen is bad, the post pen damage is lacking at best. You are better just using APHE.
T-55s are also generally weak compared to the rest around that BR, so no, they should not be moved up.
It is balanced.

That’s not how that works.
the protective analysis shows equivalent protection. not pure armor thickness.
the armor in game has multiple different metals and combinations of them and they protect different amounts depending on ammunition used.
so a 100mm thick ceramic protects one value against APFSDS and another against APDS and a third against heat. it even differs depending on what type of APFSDS as some armor protects more against speed and some protects more against heavy projectiles. some armor is better at taking shots against angles and some gets worse with angles.
here is a basic list:

it even says on the wiki:

Penetration at 60 degrees is just as improtant, as it tells you how it will behave at high angles, the fact is that the 3bm25 angle modifiers is like the one on the apds. Pure cope is actually beliving that the penetration at 0 degrees is all that matters
