Before I start, I would just like to say that I am talking about player hate and not Gaijin (Plz don’t close this) Anyway, I feel like Italy gets so much unnecessary hate. I will only talk about ground hate but there is still some hate for air.
Most of the hate comes from the R3s and people thinking that just because you have a R3 makes you a less-worthy human being. Like why? The R3 SPAA gets most of the hate from its past because of its op gun back when it was first added. But now, it still get hates after they nerfed it and made it so you could really only use it as a AA. Like I get it, there are people who are very annoying with it but most aren’t and the R3 is such a mid AA with just a decent gun, its nothing special and doesn’t deserve all of the bashing it gets.
The other R3, the light tank version, gets not nearly as much hate but it still does so I will address that to. It is so MID. Sure, it has two guns but there’s nothing really special about it. Most of the hate comes from main nation players who don’t understand the concept of a nation that isn’t theirs having an actually decent vehicle. The R3s rounds are very average and can do the job but not all the time. Like just please, stop hating on I and my Italian comrades.
But finally, there are other vehicles in Italy that also get hate but I see one in particular that stands out to me, the OTOMATIC. The OTOMATIC is really just an up tiered 2S38. When it was at 9.7 I do somewhat agree with the hate it got because it was pretty overpowered, but now its top tier and just the 2S38 with a radar. Its radar can’t keep up with modern jets and doesn’t have the range to effectively counter them especially with SAM launchers on your team. I know this rant was pretty horrible and pointless but I know I am not the only one. And I know that I have angered some player who is going to start calling me a idiot but please, turn down the hate because 90% of it isn’t deserved.
We could have a nice discussion but you mentioned 2S38 and OTOMATIC, now this gonna turn in a 200+ reply post of why OTOMATIC doesn’t carry full APFSDS and why 2S38 should go even more up BR.
But, in my opinion, players don’t have any hate on Italy, is just Gaijin, Italy is a few of very unique tech trees in the game, almost no copy and pasted vehicles, except by the sub tech tree. But over all have good vehicles in most BRs. Nothing to hate on but it’s a hidden Gem overshadowed by USA, Germany and USSR.
On a note more related to the post, war thunder players are some of the best and worst people out there. There is a ton of old sentiments and beliefs that carry over to this day. Nation “mains” constantly nagging others for reasons unknown to me, sure some of it is lighthearted but a lot is not. Smaller communities are easier to pick on and so it may seem like Italy gets a lot of hate but it’s just people’s jealousy that they aren’t as skilled as players who can succeed in the Italian tree.
I don’t see much hate, except from few individuals maybe, but unfortunately I also don’t see that many people interested in Italian TT.
Even in the past there were more discussions on the forum, but nowadays most of people who main Italy prefer to stay on discord.
Btw the thing I hate the most is that many youtubers often say that Italy is harder and recommend new players to go for big 3 instead, which doesn’t help its popularity at all.
Like others here, I rarely ever see hate directed towards Italy. Quite the contrary, I mostly see a degree of sympathy.
Yes people dislike the ‘rat-mobiles’ but that’s not unique to Italy. People direct the same level of ire towards Swedens U-SH’s, Britains Fox, Americas T114, and probably a dozen other examples.
It’s not that they have anything against Italy, it’s just that it can be quite frustrating when you’re lumbering around in a big, heavy, clunky and often unstabilized tank, and you’ve got these little go-karts zooming around, tearing you apart quicker than you can react to them lol.
I never seen hate for Italy so im not sure what the hate is about or what kind of hate ya talking about. Is it just, “I hate facing the Pantsir” kind of hate? or “Ground line ups/tanks sucks” kind of hate or what exactly is the hate?

the most stigmatised are germany, russia and USA
the most bullied is germany
the most ignored is china but thats beginning to change (the botter players are hated)
and france and britain…
they hate each other enough for all of us
Italy is fun, more people should try it. P 40 is not a bad tank, and you can often do well with Italian vehicles due to most players enjoying slow vehicles that can’t turn quickly. It’s easy to get the FIAT 6614 and then the pizza wagon with the pasta cannons on the top.
