Which is why is questioned ray tracing as well, something very demanding that the vast majority of players can’t even use and those that can probably still won’t use it due to the hit in performance, unless it somehow gives them an advantage.
To add that whilst the rest of the game has things looking like the Ariete, bomber cockpits look even worse and there are a ton of other issues that should take priority.
We still have ULQ in the game because apparently people still use pre 2010 hardware, we have pre 2000 cockpits in terms of graphics but now there’s ray tracing.
One is placed in a very popular nation, another is within barely played Italy, so probably they prefer to spend less on Ariete model.
Although maybe cockpit was made way before the introduction of the plane, which can be quite possible considering in 2015 devs (Lassar) already told about plans to show us Italian TT, but then, well…it seems plans were changed.
Btw I haven’t checked G.91Y cockpit recently, but it used to be just G.91R reuse.
oh man the people defending this slop are very sad (articfox) i’ve been saying this for a while when i tried to use a bomber in test drive SIM only to be welcomed with stretched out basic grey blobs and copy pasted plane instruments all over the place
BY THE WAY if you want to feel even more angry, the R2Y2 haves a way detailed cockpit than the ariete somehow…
After reading this whole thread I can understand most of the points being made and I think I can see Gaijin’s prospective on this. I believe the lack of source material is the most likely reason for the low quality but with ‘silver’ lining. They probably made this bad model to save effort because they expect to update the model in the future if better pictures become available (which could be never). I don’t imagine they can justify a business expense to fly to Italy to take pictures themselves for a single plane. The awful screws on the canopy is pretty inexcusable though.
I think the intention was to give all aircraft high res cockpits back in the day but as sim is basically dead theyre only focussing on the big ones. If you want a good cockpit i guess the only option is to submit one yourself like that guy did for the he111.
Yeah, or entire models like the He 177 which also doesn’t get a cockpit but they will financially benefit from it by putting it in the BP and then on the marketplace.
If they don’t want to bother with bombers that’s one thing, even though I don’t see why people allow them to just cut corners, I don’t know any other games where they outright refuse to just finish a model and people are just okay with it, but the Ariete in question is what, $40? You copy paste a tech tree model and sell it for $40 but won’t bother to add even a basic cockpit.
