Have you guys noticed lately how every damn HEAT round explodes from little blades of grass, tree and bush leaves? It’s actually tilting me so much when I’m trying to play with FIAT 6614 for example, and the goddamn round explodes from a slight touch of a singular bush leaf. I have a 15-sec reload and I’m screwed if I cant hit the first shot. Same with U-SH 405 or anything that shoots HEAT rounds. Please GAIJIN I’m begging, do something about this. The charge SHOULD NOT explode from a touch of a leaf.
And you can go try this for yourself in test drive for example, shoot at any top of bush, any tree leaf or any blade of grass and it detonates instantly. I think the ammunition might be bugged, or the objects have some weird hitboxes now.
" HEAT shells and rockets explode in contact with any obstacles, such as trees or fences. Consider this when shooting at the enemy."
What is so hard to understand?
Are you braindead? I am talking about ACTUAL leaves. HEAT rounds don’t detonate from raindrops and leaves in real life, why do they do that in War Thunder?
I should be able to shoot through light brushing and grass with ease. It’s completely wrong that they detonate so easily. I can understand them detonating from branches and the middle part of bushes where they grow from, but literal grass and leaves? That is just absurd and makes no sense whatsoever.
You really expect someone to spoonfeed you explanations when you are being rude?
LOL. Pills. You know what to do.
He’s right though. I have no problem with HEAT being set off by fences, or trees, but some small bushes will set them off. I’ve died so many times in my Type-60 SPRG due to it being set off by the one branch on a bush in front of an enemy tank. I’ve just learned to fire the spotting rifle to clear the path.
Again, its clearly stated in the game that they have this effect. So Mr. Manbaby has no reason to be shocked.
he is not “shocked” he identifies it as being unrealistic and silly and should therefore be adjusted.
Which it is.
Stop gaslighting.
Its not “unrealistic or silly”. How do you think “slat armor” works?
Also, The dude is mentally unbalanced. I’m doubtful its possible to gaslight him.
To be a bit more precise, it’s HEAT grenades that explode on everything in game. HEAT-FS and other HEAT rounds can go through very light bushes.
For example, if I aim my T92 through the bushes:
It goes through the bush (you can actually see the bush falling down) and destroys the tank:
However, if you use a HEAT grenade like the Pbv 501:
It explodes on the same bush that the HEAT-FS went through:
The two vehicles you mentioned both use HEAT grenades. The in game explanation can be seen on the stat cards: HEAT and HEAT-FS have a fuse sensitivity of 0.1mm, while HEAT grenades have a fuse sensitivity of 0.01mm. Whether this is realistic… I have no idea.
lol. slat armor, literally made for the purpose, is not the same as a twig or a chicken-fence. IRL it wouldn’t get triggered by those. why should it in game?
Its not. There is no practical distinction between a “HEAT grenade” or a “HEAT-FS” ( which is an annoying old Soviet term), since there is a wide range of each.
Fuse sensitivity isn’t a thickness thing. That is all just a WT thing. How “thick” are the bush models and sprites?
IRL its the sensitivity of the pizoelectric switches to the shock of hitting something. At several hundred meters per second, hitting a tree branch will feel just like hitting a solid metal plate.
ATGM gunners are taught to not fire thru ANYTHING from a reason.
See above.
that is just not true though depending on the thickness of the branch. the branch will yield to the round and thus not push back on the switch with the same force as a stationary metal object would.
if that force is enough to trigger the fuse or not is round dependant.
BUT the issue in game is that it triggers in places it OBVIOUSLY shouldn’t. like blades or grass or a bush with such thin branches that its 90% leaves.
Sigh…
exactly!
I rarely have a problem with this, but it can happen. Just drive closer to the enemy and blow them up from close range. FIAT 6614 isn’t a sniper and I’ve never played it as a sniper. Close combat is dangerous, but if you’re any good, it’s worth getting close, otherwise you’re just another 14 year old kid who keeps his distance and never contributes to his team.
Anything that keeps fiat out of the game is a blessing
