If I had to choose a single thing in Ground Arcade that could easily make the game at least a little better it would be a change whereby CAS users incur the same repair and loss of a life penalty that tank users do. There’s not much more bloody annoying that having some window-licker put his aircraft into a vertical death-dive and release a volley of rockets just before he lawn darts into the ground, AND he’s credited with a kill with ZERO penalty to him. So you get penalized while the absolute skill-less lobotomy patient gets away scott free.
This is nothing but pure pandering to the CAS brigade on Gaijin’s part. There is no reason a CAS user shouldn’t have to use at least some care to avoid dying the same way tank users do, or be penalised as a result of carelessness.
Why? They gonna have to leave the aircraft in a given time anyway, so what’s the point of not doing a death dive after u run outta bombs or rockets? Would just make the game more boring as people can’t do anything in their plane but are forced to stay in it
erm… There is at least ONE reason. And its called “you can join in as many air battles in GA as you make ground kills”. Meaning that you can fly MUCH MORE than 3 times. Because this is designed as a killstreak for good enough players to use. So its not related to “respawn count” of the player :/
Because GAB CAS almost never survives. Think of it: you spawn in an unfamiliar aircraft, have to understand it’s usage in a few seconds to succeed, all while enemy fighters chase you. That’s not even the worst part. That honor goes to the power of SPAA in GAB. Everybody gets a lead marker at 2.5km out. You usually spawn with SPAA already having LOS to you; furthermore, you start at a high altitude (but not high enough to be useful) with a mediocre speed, ensuring you are vulnerable for multiple seconds at missile BRs.
Furthermore, due to the time limit, it is impossible to simultaneously play in a cautious manner and have a significant impact on the match. Even if the timer was longer, you are pressured by other factors; due to the speed of Arcade matches, careful use of CAS would be less effective than staying in your vehicle. You don’t have the luxury of spending time to gain altitude and energy, or in a helicopter, gain a favorable position for pop-up attacks.
This effectively penalizes cautious play, and you want to penalize the other option as well? The idea of adding repair costs and activity time interruptions is plainly ridiculous.
Just say you hate CAS, it is not diffiicult. You are ignorant of balance as long as only you benefit from advantages, are you not?;

CAS in GAB is just bad. Nothing like spawning into a slow ass SM92 with multiple Fw 190 A-4 shoved up your buttcheeks while being lit up by seven different SPAA trying to be the main character
CAS in arcade is basically the addition of much needed rewards to both sides of the battle.
Every time you push the air spawn butten, you generate rewards literally out of thin air. Because when you do, someone will very likely earn additional income. Maybe you, maybe someone else, maybe both.
So making a CAS in arcade is about the most social activity you can undergo there, as the same CAS helps both sides income on average.
And from my observation, it is a pretty balanced payout as far as the teams go. Introducing a penalty would be biting the hand that feeds you.
Kinda hard not to when I die from an AGM launched from Narnia that I have no way of countering because I have no warning its coming and I dared to cross from my cover to try and advance forward and push a flank.
