Why do almost all fuel tanks produce spall except russian ones?

usualy when you shoot for example a abrams the fuel tank eats the spall but then when the round exits the fuel tank it spalls again
This happends on pretty much everything that isnt russian tanks, why is this?

If you look closely in the x ray then you see that in the abrams for example the fuel tanks are separated from the crew with metal plates. Thats the thing that spalls, no ones fuel tanks spall russian tanks just dont have that plate.

No fuel tank in game produces spall, the spall that you get on the abrams is from the bulkheads

It’s absurdely convenient considering the T-72/T-90s fuel tanks are both exterior, and EVERY SINGLE exterior tank on modern MBTs have their plates fully modelled on their X-rays.

T72 have internal fuel tanks

Only the t90m have " external" fuel tanks because it uses special fuel tank that prevents detonations

If that’s the rationale, why the west can’t have DM63—a functionally identical round to DM53 with a different propellant—to prevent ammo from cooking off?

Convenient as usual. Selective realism. Call it however you like.

because it have more of an impact on the gameplay than a singlular tank not being able to detonate from the fuel tanks

crying for no reason btw

That’s a weak argument when I see it.

When one takes a convenience to boost its performance but the other doesn’t, it’s called being selective.

Thanks for the clarification

Well, it is a reason non the less, the dm63 can be added to dozens of tanks

Come on, buddy. Show us the T-90Ms plate that makes the fuel tank count as exterior.

It doesn’t exist, your magic fuel simply doesn’t cook off the entire tank because it’s a game convention.

This doesnt really change much since the T90M has it as exterior AND it doesnt have the bulkhead that produces spall wich you can see that the Leo and the Abrams have a additional plate of armour on the inside that produces spall

It is not “magic” fuel, like it or not but them being detonation proof is not unsourced

Me when I’m deliberately missing the bulkhead

It’s literally not inside the tank.

I must repeat, if they’re adding stuff to make some tanks harder to detonate but not to others where possible (in terms of ammo cook off), it’s more than clear they’re favoring Russia here.

And oh, I wonder why they do that.

The only truly broken fuel tank is it the T-34-85

Yes, totally right. Damn you Russian bias, God forbid tanks being modelled properly:

Gaijin must’ve sneaked in Uralvagonzavod factories and issued a request for no plates between the driver and frontal arc fuel tanks so it T-72 could perform better in War Thunder.
