Why can't we share camouflages between identical 3D models? (EF-2000, etc.)

I’ve been thinking about the camouflage system and it feels really inconsistent. If a vehicle is essentially a ‘sister model’ with the exact same 3D asset, why are the skins locked to a single version?

Take the EF-2000 (Eurofighter) and the AESA version, for example. Visually, they are the same plane. If I spend time, GE, or GJN to get a cool skin for one, it’s frustrating that I can’t apply it to the other just because the flight performance or radar changed.

This happens with many other ‘identical airframes’ across different nations. Don’t you think it’s time for Gaijin to allow skin sharing for vehicles with identical 3D assets? It would make unlocking camouflages much more rewarding. What’s your take on this?

Because they aren’t the same service nation.
And in some cases they aren’t actually identical.

If that were the case, fictional skins shouldn’t even exist, but at least it should work between the nation’s own skins.
