As many of you guys know, War Thunder has a lot of maps, like a LOT of maps. I’m sure most people have noticed that some maps are much better and worse than others. But one map stands above them all, featuring brawling, flanking, sniping, and good CAS and AA coverage. The map I’m referring to is obviously Sands of Sinai. This map does everything a tank game should feature, it’s great for planes, but very manageable for anti air, it’s great for helicopters, with cover, but also a need to be exposed to fire which helps helicopters. The spawns are perfectly placed, the map is perfectly sized for most BR’s, and it all just works out well. Even the smaller version of the map placed to the right of it is an amazing map, capping points on the map really means something because you can defend points, attack them well, and spawn camping isn’t an instant plague most times due to both spawns being in cover. Compare this to a map such as Port Novorossiysk, where it’s hard to advance through the city on both sides, the sides are chaotic and fill up fast when being camped, it is also a very easy map to do CAS in because the large portion of capture points are open, while spawns are confined and can’t really look up to the sky on any angles. Pair this with the open part of the map being closed off now, so the AA has to be in the open exposed to enemy tank players, the CAS has free reign once they can get above the battlefield, and tank players can’t move up to battle for points. On the opposite side of the spectrum, we have Red Desert, this map is hated by everyone, it shouldn’t be played anymore due to how repetitive and boring gameplay can be. There is only sniping and flanking, people don’t advance into points because they get shot against the map, planes crap on the tanks due to the amount of cover they can find behind mountains, and worse of all for Gaijin, it probably costs them more than any of the other maps because of the excessive size and amount of stuff cluttered on it! A good example of a decent big map is Pradesh, it has hull down battles that aren’t fought from the side, brawling on the sides of the map, and the air craft power to AA power ratio is perfectly balanced. So I ask again, why can’t we find more happy mediums like Sands of Sinai?

Idk about more desert maps, they’re really not good for people who actually want to snipe and flank and not just in a far corner on the map but somewhere like in an area where it impacts the cycle.
Soviet MBTs perform poorly on open maps like that
Makes me want to melt my fingers when I play unstab tanks in mid tier
This map is very good for spawn camping.
For some reason, whenever I use paragraphs it just messes up the format of everything. It annoys me to read it in it’s current form too.
Try typing it up in notepad and then pasting into forum.
