but they are similar, arent they?
i dont belive 2S38 has a search radar
Neither does the LAV-AD or the Strela or the Imp.Chaparral
I mean i think one can make a reasonable enough argument the LAV-AD could be reclassified as an SPG or light tank and therefore lose and gain privelages on that basis.
It as a SPAA vehicle is very unlikely to receive scouting, but if it was a light tank it would automatically gain that ability.
FIM92
9M35 in BR9.3, 0.7 lower than 2S38
BR9.3 and a AIM9L with Stinger’s tracker
That could be a solution but it would leave the question unanswered as there are other vehicles which still have / don’t have scouting which break the rule.
I also don’t believe the LAV-AD would be classified as a light tank by Gaijin since it has SAMs.
I don’t understand where your thought process is.
Then create an issue about inconsistent treatment of certain vehicles which are the same.
Like the R3, AMX-10P, and Wiesel.
If you want an answer you need to raise the issue about those three.
I want the LAV-AD to have scouting.
I would say overall all SPAA should have scouting to simply encourage their play.
I’ve created a thread for this specific topic and submitted a suggestion for the change.
they have something different/better than Lvkv9040C or 2S38, i dont belive that you can shoot down a 3km away supersonic plane in them, but those SAM can
Depends on the flight path. If they’re heading straight on and don’t evade certainly you can.
Well, probably wont have much luck on that front unless you argue it being a light tank. Which is a hard sell.
which mean you agree that VT shells have a bad performance than SAM if they are attacking a mobile jet right? that what LAV’s advantage, it has both SAM and guns, even the rockets
Depends if the jet has flares and how mobile the jet is.
I consider my M247 to be more effective as SPAA than the LAV-AD, not the least of which because it has search radar but because continuous fire from proxy shells leaves less room for error than a low G IR missile.
The LAV-AD doesn’t have radar, it has IRST.
The 2S38 also has IRST.
LAV has a 25mm auto gun and M247 rocket, 2S38 has a 57mm auto gun but no rocket
The Chaparral has missiles that pull similar G’s and the upgrades are smokeless, but either way both can’t seem to lock a helicopter over 3km. I wouldn’t say either are amazing missiles atm. The LAV-AD has more going for it in other aspects tho.
Waffentrager fell off after WW2 smh
This isn’t even an opinion tho, it’s quite literally classified as a light tank unlike irl simply just because of the spawn points, just like the ADATS is classified as a tank destroyer and the m18 as a light tank despite it being a tank destroyer. It has absolutely nothing to do with the ability to scout, gaijin simply does what gaijin wants lol
