Simply no. It was already prooven countless times. Everyone except Abrams and Challenger (?) have same detonation chance.
I see the exact same thing.
Do i care about it? No. In the same way that ammo doesnt allways explode its not really unique in any way.
If you want me to suggest reasons as to exactly why it happens i probably can, i just not really worth talking about.
While one could fixate on that specifically, one could also look at what actually made that vehicle specifically survive while others would not.
That’s kinda the point when you plaster the entire inside of the vehicle with spall-liners though…
The “secondary spall” is basically just an artificial nerf to the survivability of the vehicle.
Not really. Its only applied to the gun mask, which doesnt produce enough of spall to get gun without it.
The krembots are still at it huh, someone must’ve doubled their paycheck to 4 rubles
So it’s still an artificial nerf through and through… it’s an off button for the Leopard 2.
Just to remind, there’s no point in discussing anything with them because they will go out of their way to ignore or downplay all evidence
just like this
It’s the same as the Challengers
Nerf to the gun mask yes, not the entiriety of the vehicle, which i thought you meant on your previous comment. Reddit post author states this themselves that the breach was too hard to knock out.
Gajin’s programmers took the biggest weakness of all russian tanks (ammo storage/autoloader under the turret) and changed it into its greatest strenght. It acts like a huge, inert armor block, which stops even high energy penetrators without getting damaged. It doesn’t explode anymore and it doesn’t even stop the autoloading cycle. Along with fuel tanks it stops almost all spalling from the main armor and protects the crew.
Since I’ve already answered this I’ll only be doing it once more:
T-80BVM:
- combustionTime: 10.0
- detonateProb: 0.15
- detonatePortion: 0.6, 0.9
M1A2 SEP:
- combustionTime: 10.0
- detonateProb: 0.15
- detonatePortion: 0.7, 0.9
Detonation portion affects detonation probability, yes
A bug report was already submitted about this issue and it was closed and the reason being for balance and a “in-game feature”. Russia would be performing piss poor if these additions weren’t added but Gaijin claims to care about historical accuracy.

Here is also a reddit page about it going further in detail about the issue on hand.
Gaijin employees stated that the reason Russian vehicles have similar or lower detonation rates to their NATO counterpart is because they have wet ammo, whilst technically correct this doesn’t actually prevent direct hits which usually SHOULD and DO (in real life) cause fatal explosions (it only should prevent shrapnel not a APFSDS munition).
Oh yeah and the “wet ammo” only applies to the shells inside the fuel tanks which provide bare minimal protection

Well said my friend!
It’s the same as the Challengers
Which it shouldn’t at all, looking at T-72s in combat (across the world) their turrets popping off do translate to comparable detonation rates to their NATO counterparts.
This is coming from a man who originates from a Former Communist nation so what I send has zero “bias” in it.
2 tanks ?
i count 6, 3 on the german tree and 3 on the swedish tree
but sure your 2 is just short by about 4 tanks :D
okay ru fanboy you now are pulling bs out of your … ;)
i’m done with die hard ru fans like you are
The thing about wet ammoracks is that they don’t prevent a detontonation - they postpone it, giving the crew enough time to run away as far as possible. The only way to stop ammunition from detonating is making it insensitive enough (i.e LOVA propellants), I haven’t heard of Russia using such, not once.
True but I’m just quoting what they said lel.
Reading the first 50 comments was amusing. Now I understand that @AlvisWisla has another account named @Hirosava_Ui.
Gaijin when will you understand you need to hire more convincing staff?
Oh and the name RazerVon is still linked to AlvisWisla so fix that.
Using multiple accounts is a violation of forum rules.
Not sure why you want the name “RazerVon” to disappear from my account…
It’s also a rule violation to pretend to be staff.
No one is staff if they lack the icons next to their name.
Just lost another PSO, ambushed a T-80BVM, shot it into the side below the turret. Side era neutralized DM33, didn’t even penetrate into the main compartment. Despite almost a clean 90 deg shot. It just shot back and killed me with one single shot.
Its so fool proof. They just rush, dont care for anything. Getting shot from all sides doesn’t matter. They don’t need to watch the flanks, don’t need to aim, no need for tactics…just rushing to the center and leftclick everything away with one shot. They always get a second life or something like that. Its so super annyoing and just unfair.
Seriously, repeating the same line “I can’t be an undercover Gaijin employee because that would be a violation of an arbitrary rule” is probably the worst thing you can do for yourself.
Also, you’re staff impersonating a player, not a player impersonating staff.
I wish you to learn how to read, 2 tanks come from Reddit post stating both 2A6 and STRV have secondary spall on for the gun mask. The Reddit post makes it clear that all tanks except for these two (they are only ones stated by post as far as i remember that have sec. spalling on) dont have the secondary spalling all, basically making clear russian tanks spall like any other with only exception being two in game Leopards 2 masks.
When have i yet started? The only BS i see here is how little people actually know about tanks in a simulator game with military vehicles.
Russia is a genuine no-skill tech tree and I have proof!
I played both Great Britain and the Soviet Union and made a comparison of both TTs and here is my experience:
- I played the USSR for couple games and my first match was absolute slaughter, rushed A and got 3 quick kills on Leopards then I self-destructed to spawn in my SU-39 for some CAS runs. I manage to get 7 kills with the SU-39 including 3 different SPAAs most being FlaRakRad and their good (poor) VT-1 missiles.
At the end of the game I manage to get 10 kills (this was my first game with Russia in a month by the way)
- When I played the Challenger my experience was completely different, I got 2 kills with the Challenger before being pushed all direction by the Russian keyboard battalion. After dying in a skilful way I picked my Tornado just to explode the minute I spawned in lol.
Long story short Russia is busted and requires little to no skill (this applies to the F-14A when it was first released as well)
Russian ERA is also mental and I completely agree with what you say, Thodin.
