So im in the test for the AIM-7C and im using the F3H-2 and whenever i try to lock the MiG-15 im in a head on with it wont lock using my key binds it just turns my radar from off to on and then from search and then track its hyper annoying
The Demon does not have a Pulse Doppler radar. So aspect doesn’t matter. What does matter is the background. Pulse radars suffer from ground clutter. So prefer having the MiG-15’s above you. (Head-On too cause the 7C’s are… Bad…)
Now if it’s not that you could have some issues with keybinds. So maybe check if those are fine first?
Edit: Forgot to mention. The Demon has quite the bad radar. So you mith need to stay in ACM a bit longer even in a good aspect with a clear background. (I found normal SRC tracking to be better tbh)
How do i use SRC radar to use AIM-7’s?
Well. Like every other radar. It can’t be notched but chaff and ground clutter will break the lock. (Often times just change to chaff but if you keep the lock and you have a decently modern Sparrow it’ll still go for the enemy)
Im not the sharpest i still dont understand how i can use search radar to use AIM-7Cs plz be understanding
The main 2 keys you want for radar control are these. (the key binds are just suggestions, use what you think is better)

N switches the standard SRC mode to ACM mode, which allows you to lock targets in the box.
R locks (or attempts to lock) the radar target your radar is highlighted.
Once you have a lock like this;
You then need to press your missile lock key to get this;
And then use your missile fire key, and the missile should launch. Apologies for not using the F3H-2, I don’t have Aim-7s unlocked on it yet.
Alr.
Radars have SRC, ACM and HMS modes. Most offer the first two. Your SRC is the normal search. The radar scans the area you’ve set it to and any contact it picks up shows at the radar screen. From that. You have the option to lock a selected radar target indicated by the two vertical lines left and right of the contact. (I don’t remember the keybind names to tell you. Something about Select radar contact and lock radar contact)
Now ACM is basically you doing the Lock target but continuously by itself in a small area in front of the jet. It locks the first thing it sees no matter what (Yes it locks friendlies even if you have IFF (Identification Friend and Foe).
(I gotta go, so if you still haven’t understood I hope someone else can help better than I did. Sorry for not being clearer in the beginning)
thanks alot ^w^
