Out of curiosity: Is there light at the end of the tunnel (not just an oncoming train)?
Once you learn how to fly the thing, have controlls set up, are they fun to play in RB?

Are top Heli’s in general fun?
Ehhh.
Really depends on the quality / quantity of SPAA you face. You hard counter tanks, but SAM’s hard counter you in return.
Typically there’s multiple Pantsirs present at the latter end of battles, and unless you’re in a Heli with F&F missiles, it’s extremely difficult to operate in that environment.
I don’t think they are ever fun, the lower tier ones have more potential to be fun by actually having to engage at close range but autocannon spam kinda destroys them instantly, especially since they combined avionics to the entire hull for god knows what reason.
Helicopters are just going to hover 5km+ outside of the battlefield and spam missiles and you hope you play a nation that has an SPAA actually capable of dealing with that.
The whole thing just seems like whale bait.
Yeah, this is their objective.
After 11d of Heli PvE finally used to this gamemode, still infuriating to be caught up by random spawned Gepard despite you precalculated all such probabilities…
PvE+premium+knowledge of PvE reward system allows you to farm 2.3+K RP every 10 min. It is not that bad if you spading only 1-2 TTs, pretty copable. Devs won’t make grind any more interesting/better.
But you still gonna need premium/talismane ground vehicle for certain nations (like Italy)
Its not that bad. I have all but 2 helicopters for the US (don’t have the AH-64 except the yah)
Only if you have a capable helicopter to actually earn RP, try playing China or something with 2 ATGMs followed by a 40s reload during which far more capable helicopters wipe everything else whilst you might have 1 kills and a crit.
Tell you never played Heli PvE with the garbage early Helis without telling me you never played Heli PvE with the garbage early Helis.
See my stats, I’ve grinded all T5 helis (for ALL Nations), most T6. Absolute horrors are starting: Italy, Sweden, Mi-4 is slow but self-capable.
Having 2 starting ATGMs is better than not to have them at all. Z-11WA is far not the worst heli from my PvE grinding experience.
That’s a matter of: skill, knowledge of the Zocal Zoo - disable join in progress, play in the morning so less overcrowded lobbies, but Mi-24s are truly the pain to compete with, but you still can outsmart them by predicting next target appearance square.
You say grinding but trees can be ground out with premiums and modules can be bought with GE. I’d like to think you wouldn’t waste GE on spading Helis though, but I’m not invested in this enough to stat check you. You can show screenshots of your spaded Helis at your leisure, or don’t - Makes no difference to me here.
It’s still like 10k RP per hour or something.
The mighty mouse are worse because their damage is non-existent, but neither is playable.

For Italy - yes, you waiting till allies gundown ZSU-23, then you charge and wipe the floor with 2 miniguns (not much alternatives) or going for AD-2s (but they give little score). Armored targets takes very much skill to deal with - but it is possible if you lower the CALL (use Hover to determine that perfect %) and just shoot left-right rockets with brain ballistic computer.
ride of the valkyries [goes wrong]
If the accuracy of those missiles wasn’t trash and without a visible trail it’s impossible to use them at range accurately, and you don’t really wipe the floor when you have a bunch of teammates in far more capable helicopters.
Either way, even if it was, the RP gain and RP requirements are completely off.
“WT: Heli PvE grinding guide with hints”:
Reward drops every 10 min (from moment of last spawning) and based on time spent alive (max at 10min) and score earned (300 prefered, max around 400 score).
The reward breakdown table can be seen in messages/ battle/ Useful_actions (/hover your mouse over it). Here you can notice that RP difference between 400vs300 is super small and 500vs400 is barely noticable, conclusion - No Point to overfarm past 400.
Also reward drops prematurely on crash/j-out - doing so will reduce your total reward. Hint: you still can safely j-out right after reward dropped and fast-travel this way (hint: j-outing on the ground without crashing reduces spawn SL cost).
Targets and score: SPAA gives the most score - top priority, Planes gives the least and have huge ticket drain - better to no to kill them fully (so at least one AD-2/A-26 will return without causing ticket drain).
Other hints: score, booster time (coming soon)
The range for the rockets should be around 300m, AB 205 A-1 has the best anti-soft target preset with 2 half-turreted miniguns (among classmates), RP farm is atrocious - but you cannot do anything about it, that’s why I never enter heli PvE without (free from Twitch drops) premium
300m whilst SPAA gets you from 2km away, so you cannot actually do anything, and get within 300m you still don’t actually pack enough of a punch to kill vehicles as even random trucks survive impacts.
I can unlock only a few vital starting modules with discounted GE module price on sales. I do spade TT in both ways but prioritizing PvE for: modules, crew XP, 30% research boost in line. Only a few Nations’ helis trees can be spaded without aid from the ground - actually that’s why players managed to push this change.
You never approaching gepards closer than 3km, never. ZSU-23 are more forgivable, but still better don’t think about missiling them. AB 205 A-1 is capable of destroying light tanks. Convoys - wait till they reach frontline.
And why you are not unlocking Mi-24D (Hungary)?
