Why can dead people still shoot?

Somehow I landed a B29 without wings and a vertical stabilizer lol.

you play with russia and compain about it ? i bet you have taken some kills to with the r73 or 77

Idk if this game models lateral G forces, but i’m pretty sure a pilot would g loc on a flatspin like the ones in wt

I would recommend some lite search’s on ww II planes, some landed without crews, some landed with only one man alive, never doubt the will of survival. I’ve made it back in pieces then had to check my heart rate lol but I made it…

no brah he literally js launched it out of nowhere and i couldnt detec him on my ahh radar beacuse for some reason the su30 cant detect stuff closer than 25km

Why can dead people still shoot? Because that is just ONE of the MANY idiotic aspects of this broken game. Like why can a tank that gets destroyed by a team mate shoot me even just after he dies? Why can my British solid shot round with 190mm pen NOT penetrate the front of a Panzer III turret. Why do rounds that don’t hit a tank’s barrel do ZERO damage EXCEPT taking out the barrel? There is so much broken with this game and all they do is ignore virtually everything people highlight as a problem and roll out new copy and paste tanks ad nauseam. Bottom line… THEY DON’T CARE!

In Il2, if my plane is on fire or my ripped off due to damage, I can still shoot (at least if the gun itself is intact). Why shouldn’t I be able to also keep shooting in Warthunder?

The fact that you CAN is irrelevant if you’re comparing this to IRL which you are clearly trying to do. IRL, any crew of an aircraft in such a situation would be too busy trying to save their asses by baling out of the plane. They would NOT be sticking around and firing in random directions with a 1 in a million chance of taking out the enemy.

He is talking about the game “IL-2 Sturmovik”

No one want irl kills. It would be awful.

If your spinning around, the pilot would most lilkley be unstable or be blacked out due to G forces, just like in DCS, and you really should not be able to control or look around if your pilot is deemed unstable or G locked. like if ur spinnning around in a circle is your head gonna be perfectly stable enough to look at and lock another enemy like 4km away from you? no

dead =/= destroyed

Got it. My bad. The point I made about the fact that once an aircraft is so badly disabled it’s no longer flyable the crew would not be interested in manning guns/missiles, remains. It’s simply that there is no consequence to dying in game that sees people “go down with the plane”. Another issue related to this is the amount of times players in aircraft that have been cut to pieces STILL manage to get bombs away and kill ground players. Has happened to me countless times and is annoying as hell. When you see on the kill cam the half an aircraft spinning on two axis’ uncontrollably that somehow still sprays bombs and somehow gets kills… What a bunch of BS.

This is at least something they are working on.

The addition of electronic parts to aircraft has been helping to make this less common.

-Unless they’re in a Harrier

You have to kill the pilot for a plane to be “dead”.
Thats why I always say to finish your kills, dont care if I have to kill steal.

Really? that sounds like a bug.

a nuke can literally go into the back of ur jet then ur avionics are fine? like bro come on now

Depends on the plane. most dont have the updated damage model.

I have had times where i was unable to fire missiles because my electronics got taken out.

gaijin is really bad about adding a feature for a few vehicles then taking years to roll it out to others.

You play as the pilot. Every decision the pilot makes should be yours and no one else’s. This is an important distinction versus ground or naval and must be respected.

Now, introducing lateral G would be nice but that’s about it.

For spinning, many times it’s recoverable with fast enough reaction speed and proper control inputs.

Consider JebediahKerman’s flight here:

(Guy has a really fitting name, I swear).

My own flight here started with spinning out (but I didnt record alas)

These feats are also possible in DCS and Il2 (). Wing damage in Warthunder is often exaggerated and equivalent would look more like this (people want to rip wings off. This wing was shredded by direct flak hits. In Warthunder it’d have been a stub):

IL2 - wing loss, horizontal stab loss, control loss, blind landing with near-dead engine

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4QG07Gdomk

DCS - losing both ailerons AND also losing wingtip

As for going down with the plane,

again - in IL2 many servers have complex rules about what qualifies as survival.

There’s a HEAVY emphasis on taking your dead plane and flying it back somewhere into friendly territory - ideally an airfield - rather than jumping out over hostiles (and getting captured/killed). At certain altitudes, it’s also easier to crashland than open the canopy, jump out and pray the parachute deploys.

Flankers can get their wings ripped off and still not give severe which is so annoying
